Nice! perfect timing! Mine is finishing mid April.

  • +2

Do you think there's going to be another one closer to August? mine's end in August but wondering if I just sacrifice 3 months and get this offer instead.

    • +2

      I don't have a crystal ball sorry!
Previously they have done BOGOF or 50% off deals in August/September in line with their Birthday sale but no guarantees.
Personally I would not sacrifice another 5 months of your plan now as that's a lot to give up for something that might or might not happen.

      • +1

Fair enough. We'll all be millionaire (billionaire?) if one has crystal ball.

I was thinking since the latest activation must be done in 31 May, I sacrificed 3 months (instead of 5 months) but yeah thinking about it again may not worth doing.
Any suggestion on what to do if they don't do another deal? I guess move to Skinny or someone in the mean time.

        • +2

I would just wait at the moment since you have already paid up until August.
If there is not another deal before yours expires then just change to a 30 day plan with any other provider who has a good offer at the time.
You won't know what the offers are until that point but there are plenty of providers to choose from when you do.

        • Just go on Kogan prepaid monthly if no deal pops up? Wouldn't surprise me if cheaper even without discount. Depends on the plan you want I guess. It's what i'd do.

    • +2

I've been with them for 4 years now and they always have a Birthday special around August / September. I think there's a pretty good chance it will happen again.

Anyone have an idea on if Kogan NZ will work with eSim?

    • No, physical SIM only at this stage.

  • +10

Be super careful who you deal with, last time myself I was almost ripped off (got my money back) and someone else here still hasn’t got their money back from someone offering to sell/go halves in vouchers.

Compare to 2degrees / spark hows the reception around rural areas? Does anyone know which network they use?

    • +4

      They use One

    • +1

In my experience better than 2Degrees in rural areas but I was with them a few years ago so idk

Does anybody know if this runs on the 5G network? I see it advertised as 4G in the description, but have also seen people saying it's 5G in forums from last year.

    • +5

Yes, Kogan is powered by the One New Zealand 5G network.

  • can i port my 2degrees esim to kogan directly via kogan website?

    • +1

You need the physical SIM for Kogan as eSim is not available in NZ with them.

      • i want to go from esim to kogan physical sim

        • I don’t see why not as you only need the phone number and existing provider name to transfer.

Hopefully someone on here has done what you want to do and can confirm as I have only ported a number on a physical sim previously

          • @bigcheese: kogan mobile support said no, asked me to port it to a physical sim first them transfer to kogan.

but from wat i read on spark and one nz website, the ICCID number attached to the esim is the sim number .
