Market Kitchen Rozana Basmati Rice 5kg $10 @ The Warehouse

370

$10 for 5kg of Basmati rice is a pretty good deal.

This is great quality Rozana Basmati very similar to the Kashish Rozana brand that is $15.99 in Pak N Save.

The grain is longer than standard Basmati that you get in most supermarkets and it has a lovely nutty fragrance.

  • Just bought one of this today

  • Thanks for the heads up, picked up a couple to try.

  • Does have the 1121 label anywhere? The Kashish one is great because it uses the 1121 variety of Basmati.

    • No clue what 1121 is but the only rice I like is kataghan.

No 1121 label but the rice is very similar. I had both at the same time and they are very similar in shape, color and taste.

It is slightly off white which is a good sign that is aged similarly, which gives it a good flavour.

Even I was not aware, not so basmati regular but this price is very very good, coming someone who eat rice daily. I like Sona Masoori.

  • Anyone used these rice?

    • There are seven reviews currently on the Warehouse app for this product so have a look at those as it’s got an average of five stars out of five… So, it looks like others think it’s good. I’m going to buy some to give it a try. Great price at mo.

Does anyone have any good tips for storing larger amounts of rice? How do you guys store it?

Lots of people vacuum seal dry rice. I can't be bothered and don't have the space to store larger amounts. Usually holds up fine in the bag for one to two years in a wardrobe/cupboard. (max I've had big bags for) Some online sources claim indefinite for dry white if storage conditions remain stable.
