I've noticed PB tech seems to have become worse than brisoces for sales - a lot of these items seem to sit consistently at these prices with massive FOMO aimed sales(the VIP night this week etc)

Some good deals still but the FOMO is gone because I feel like it'll be on sale again in 2 weeks anyway

Yeah, hopefully their Waitangi day sales next week will be better

I thought waitangi day is in February not December?

        • +1

It is. It was a joke because PB Tech keep making their sales earlier and earlier as shown by this early Boxing day sale 11 days before actual Boxing day. It was the closest national holiday after New Year's and New Year's doesn't really work as a joke since New Year's sale next week is not so different from Boxing Day sale this week.

      Especially the messaging around it.
You don't want to miss this sale! Biggest sale of the year! No rainchecks! Exclusive deals for our PB Insiders only!

      • Hopefully this will be the last Biggest sale of the year. lol.

For at least the last year or two, I've noticed these sales have become more and more obnoxious and almost disingenuous. They'll change the price colour to red to indicate a sale price but never show you the previous price (black colour) to compare. However, I've noticed when they want to show you their "discount", it'll always be a sale with a promo code. That way, they can be very selective with what products they choose to actually discount.

I dont know … just their whole pricing business seems really sleazy and dishonest. Maximising FOMO for sure because I still check the damn sales every time for that one off mispriced product.

      • You an use pricespy to check the price history which helps. But it is the same situation with supermarkets, where you can't actually tell the prices has increased because there is no pricing history.

    • S22 ultra for $998 for black friday was good.

Cheers for the NVME SSD notification!

    • SSD are much cheaper a few months ago. The manufactures of ssd chips decide to raise their price last month.

This is their new strat; do sales early ahead of everyone else in amongst bait sales.

One month black Friday , 15 Days Boxing day , 15 days extended boxing day :-) Prices are same

  • Can't wait for the Black Friday sales in Feb!

    • You mean the black Friday sales to end in feb?

      • No no, black Friday in Feb. Seems to be the way pbtech are doing their sales. Earlier and more of them.

        • "No no, doc, I'm from the future."

          "Great Scott!"

  • I somehow managed to buy something on the one day they didn't have a sale (yesterday)😢
