    What are your study requirements. Second-hand might be cheaper if you're just needing a browser and word document. And then whether the computer needs to be portable or not.

      Word processing & browsing only. Portable isn't a major. I've got a dock at work I can use if needed.

      Also keen on some light gaming, mainly warthunder or something alike. Not essential though.

        Some examples of mini pc. Those ryzen can handle light gaming as well.

          @looke: 8gb ram is quite limiting. Just my thoughts. No experience in gaming.

    In case if are needing a desktop, I will throw in Mini PC options as well. You can get latest gen intel/amd with 16g & 512/1tb for less than $500. Slap it behind the monitor and with wireless keyboard/mouse it can be minimal for your use case. Again laptop is more favorable due to portability, but that's something you need to figure out.
