Lenovo V15 G3 15.6" FHD Business Laptop (i3-1215U, 8GB RAM, FHD IPS, 256GB SSD) $724.50 + Shipping ($0 CC/ in-Store) @ PB Tech

I haven't come across any recent budget laptop bargains, so I wanted to share one. This particular model features a 300nits IPS screen, upgradeable RAM and SSD, and a recent CPU.

  • Intel® Core™ i3-1215U, 6C/8T @ 4.4Ghz
  • 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) IPS 300nits Anti-glare
  • 8GB Soldered DDR4-3200, One Slot Upgradable
  • 256GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe® 4.0x4 NVMe
  • One 2.5" SATA HDD slot, One M.2 2280 PCIe® 4.0 x4 slot
  • 38 Wh battery, 65W Power Brick

I'd recommend throwing in one more stick of RAM and a 1TB SSD. You'd get a pretty decent laptop unrivalled at this price point, especially with the prices we get here in NZ.

Been looking to buy 2 of these. 1 for each kid (7 and 10). But wondering if should wait a week till cyber Mon to see what others are on offer.

    • I got my 6 year old now 7 years old Chromebook for 150 NZD 2nd hand near new it's amazing water proof keyboard, drop mill rating with rubberized corners etc you can put Android apps Linux apps and browser chome works well

    • Seems a bit overkill for primary school students

Still macbook air M1 near new 2nd hand which you can grab around 800 to 1000 nzd is a better deal

Not really when you factor in the cost of a Windows license.

  • There are some deals at Lenovo NZ also. They are the newer G8 models.

Just wanted to say that not long ago I found a great deal going on a special on Lenovo AU site and I live chatted to Lenovo NZ and they managed to reproduce the laptop and gave me 53% discount to match the price in AU. So if anybody faes this situation, give it a try, might be in luck.

    • Yeah some reps will go the extra mile and match similar pricing.

Would be interesting to see if people can get a similar price here

This equates to around $970 NZ if you take the extra GST into consideration. Lenovo said they'd do it for $1240. Not a terrible offer but still a lot more than the Aussies due to "demand and supply".

        • +1

Supply and demand would make sense if they were a local business holding stock but not when it comes direct from China or Singapore and they already supply the same SKU to NZ. That quote is at the price point where you will save money having family in Aus buy one and send it over(even if you declare the correct value and pay both AU and NZ GST on arrival).

    • Good information thanks ,
