    • Yuck, why would you link that garbage fire?

      • I was hoping that there would be some good feedback on there (eventually) but looks like the opposite has happened.

They want to sell current stock before the new refresh models arrive
    https://electrek.co/2023/06/15/tesla-offers-3-months-free-su…

    • No official confirmation on when the refresh will be implemented. They are likely trying to boost end of quarter numbers, as well as make room for new stock.

Well officially as there is no new M3 or MY released yet anywhere in the world and NZ & AU are probably the last to receive any updates, so highly unlikely.

  • Also a 5000$ discount on Model 3 inventories currently!!

  • What's 'supercharging' and why does it usually cost to have it?

    • "Supercharging" is the term used when you charge your car at a Tesla "Supercharger" (Tesla's network of fast chargers). Costs vary from location to location, but it is usually around $0.83/kWh. For reference, charging at home overnight (off-peak) can cost as low as $0.08/kWh depending on your power company

      • For people with only steetside parking and apartment dwellers, public charging in the city is pretty much the only way to go.

        • I (as an EV owner) wouldn't recommend buying an EV to anybody without access to either home or workplace charging. Relying on public charging is a more expensive and a heap less convenient.

It is usually possible to have charging installed in apartment carpark's, but it can be quite a chore getting body corp approval, and I can see why some people won't want to be the first mover for their building.

For most EV owners, public DC charging is only for longer trips.

          • @scott: Couldn't agree more. Another thing is even with to access to public chargers it can be unreliable and might have to wait.

  • Just got an email that buying from existing inventory now gets a free universal mobile charger. Good extra.

I'm not sure of the deal has changed, But the email I got says it only applies to Inventory model 3 RWD.

Tesla have no inventory model Y listed at the moment anyway.

Regardless, An impressive deal for the Inventory model 3. Impressively low pricing of inventory model 3's is unchanged since I last posted an inventory price cut as a deal:

    https://www.cheapies.nz/node/41118

And now a buyer gets a $600 mobile charge cord, and 3 months free supercharging to further sweeten the deal…

Personally, I think the $600 charge cord is the most important part of the deal. (unless one is planning an epic amount of supercharging…)

All this brings the model 3 to be just a small price up from that of the likes of Atto3 etc.

Should note that most other new plug in cars from other brands (excl Mach-e) include a domestic socket charge cord.
