Free Selling on $1 Reserves for General Items only – Saturday 15 April!

General items:

  • This promotion is available to casual sellers only (not in-trade).
  • Applies to general item listings listed as a $1 reserve auction only.
  • Discount applies to success fees only, any other applicable listing fees still apply.
  • Relists started on Saturday 15 April 2023 are included, but relists after this date are not. Only applies for the first listing period.
  • Car parts are included, however large machinery listed in the 'Business, farming and industry' category are not (e.g. tractors and trailers).

Discount applies to success fees for casual sellers (not in-trade), on general items listed as a $1 reserve auction from 00:00 am until 11:59 pm on Saturday 15 April 2023. Only applies for the first listing period. Does not apply to relists after this date and withdrawal fees may apply. Limit of 100 listings applies.

      id only do $1 auctions if its a popular item, otherwise yes it will go too cheap, trademe aint what it used to be

      No it’s for everyone.
      It doesn’t start for another nine days.
      There is no email yet, I just discovered this with a bit of google searching.
      Targeted promos don't have a dedicated URL link like this one does.

      TradeMe usually doesn't send you notification/email until the day before it happens. (very stupid way of doing things, doesn't give people enough time to prepare)

      @bigcheese is doing everyone a HUGE favor by posting it 9 days in advance. He was spot on about the Free Selling last time for everyone with 8 day advance notice so you can be pretty confident about this upcoming one too.

        Yup timing on point. Always the day before haha. I really hope TradeMe can just change the time they notify their user base. (a week before would be wonderful and far more useful).

    If I listed something at $1 but add a buy now and someone pushes that instead will I be charged?

    Keen to list my car up but don't wanna list it now, then have a free selling deal next week.

      Sorry I have no idea.
      They don't do them every month and the fact they had free selling in March and then 50% off in April there is a chance there won't be anything in May.
      I'm only guessing though - my crystal ball is no better than anyone else on here!

      If I come across anything I will be sure to post it.

      Essentially only if you got the email.

          It has caught me out in the past too.
          If you saw it on the listing page when you were logged in then it will apply for you, just not everybody.

          You can tell the promotion is for everyone when there is a customer webpage for the promo.
