Mitre 10 usually does this every year for all stores

  • +2

If you do price guarantee can you still get it?

    • +1

      I did last year.

    • +2

There were a couple of staff in my local store last year that told me I couldn’t but it actually says on the mitre 10 website that you can so I had to show it to them.
      https://www.mitre10.co.nz/price-guarantee?srsltid=AfmBOoou00…
Under the FAQ section for payment and promotion it is the last question.

      • +2

Thanks found it on your link

"Can I use Mitre 10's Price Guarantee when Mitre 10 is running a promotion – for example, a free store card promotion?
        Yes."

  • What’s good to stock up on?

    • +2

      the fly spray refills

      • What's that? We are using the fly rolls but there not helping lots (catching lots of them too though )

    • +2

They often have boxing day power tool deals. You can piggyback on them to get the discount plus the card(s).

  • Would online purchases on 26th December also be eligible?

    • Last year was both in-store and online, so no reason to think it would be any different this time.

if i buy one single $1000 product, can i get two hundred dollars voucher?

    • +1

      Yeap

    • Keep in mind it will probably be 10 gift cards not one

      • No, they gave me two $100 cards

  • +3

Great time to get them to price beat a competitor and still get the voucher - last year I got a stack of door handles (for a reno), Garden lights.
Saw a fair few people in line getting the Ninja Grill, Webber BBQs, Karcher Water blasters etc.

  • good deal

  • This is in-store only I assume?

    • …This Boxing Day, Mitre 10 will have a special Deal available in-store and online…

    • +3

Has always been instore and online. One year they forgot to include my vouchers with an online purchase though. I asked about it and they initially said they thought it was for in-store only. After I asked them to show me where it said that they eventually sent me my $200 voucher as 40 x $5 cards. Dunno if that was a passive aggressive thing or not lol.

  • So if you use Afterpay you won't receive the storecards?

    • There's no mention of Afterpay on Flyer Image.

      • In the terms and conditions part above it has this:
Store Card offer not applicable for purchases made using Store Cards, on accounts (including Trade accounts, *Smartmate Accounts, other cash accounts), Farmlands Card, discount cards, short term and long term finance (including Afterpay) and purchases of phone cards, gift cards, made to order product or special orders.
Store Cards expire 90 days from date of issue.

Does this mean you won't receive the store card if you use afterpay? Or you just can't use the store card(Once you receive it) in conjunction with afterpay?

        • Are the Ts&Cs a copy and paste of last year's promotion with dates updated?

          • @Peter Wyngarde: It's what OP posted above in the description. ^^^

            • @Pinoy Punisher: bigcheese added the Ts&Cs in revision.

              • @Peter Wyngarde: Yes I added the terms as it appeared to be an exact copy of last year.
However, it does look like they have removed the Afterpay exclusion from the wording this year when reading OP's flyer.
                I have now updated.

                • @bigcheese: Unless it's implied in "…standard and long term finance…" by Mitre 10 staff.

                  • +1

@Peter Wyngarde: The FAQ now shows Afterpay is excluded.

Can I earn store cards on purchases placed with Afterpay?

No. This Store Card Offer is not applicable for purchases made on short term or long term finance.

                    • @bigcheese: It's excluded in the Ts&Cs below the FAQs as well.

                      • @Peter Wyngarde: Thanks for that, I don't get why they would exclude afterpay.

                        • +2

@Pinoy Punisher: Because they pay fees on the transaction which are higher than what they pay on credit cards.
If you’re already giving back $20 for every $100 spent and paying time and a half to staff, then additional fees are going to eat into profits even more.

                          • @bigcheese: The same could be said for using your credit card/debit card(Paywave). You don't pay surcharges currently at Mitre10 right?

                            • +1

@Pinoy Punisher: The customer doesn’t pay the surcharge but the merchant does and the charges they pay for offering Afterpay are a lot higher than credit cards.

  • Might go get another couple of flexi bins and see what else they have worth getting. I did get some sauces from there that were an ok price before.

  • Price beat a Sensibo sky wifi controller to Noel leeming (currently $119). And get a $20 store card to make it just over $80.

  • +1

I was just told by a staff I cant get a voucher if I do price beat. I have gone through t&c and there is no mention of that. Can anyone confirm this?

    • You can.
      See comment above

    • +1

Just did a price beat/gaurantee for a Makita Circular Saw in Dunedin. They price matched to Bunnings Christchurch-Riccaton without issue. Didnt even have to be in the same city lol. I "said" i was travelling to Christchurch or Queenstown where there was stock and i could have it in hand on the day, so they were sweet the 15% gaurantee.

Went from $329 to $269 & got store credit vouchers as well :)

      • Same here but I matched makita chain saw and down from $399 to $289, got a store card without asking

    • Can confirm you get the store credit with price beat. Did it this morning

    • Sounds like they were saying that this morning in New Lynn, but are now honoring the deal.
      Got a Water Blaster

      • What a coincidence, I got a water blaster too. Did you get karcher k3? They double checked t&c and honoured it at the end.

  • Didn’t see the T&C and paid online yesterday for my order with a gift card. Guess I won’t be getting my vouchers when I collect!

    • +2

Nothing in T&Cs that says you won’t. The staff do seem confused between store cards and gift cards though, as the person who served me said you couldn’t earn when using a gift card, but her manager corrected her when questioned.

I really like Mitre10 but they really need to train their staff to know their own policies better.

      • Maybe I’m confusing the two. My guess is a store card is a credit from a return/exchange whereas a gift card was purchased as a prepaid card. Makes me feel a little better!

  • I ordered online yesterday, click and collect today - How do you normally receive the vouchers? via email or when you click and collect?

    • I was wondering this as well. I’m guessing when we pickup because I haven’t seen anything on my email as yet.
