Get $100 Deposited with New Squirrel Investment Account (First 100 to Register) @ Squirrel

200
100

This popped up on one of their savings pages, and came up on my Facebook shortly afterward.

Register with Squirrel Savings, use the promo code '100', and if you're one of the first 100 people to sign up, they'll deposit $100 into your investment account. Doesn't look to be anything in the T&C's that you have to leave it there, so I guess you could withdraw it once paid. Unfortunately no way to see in advance if you're going to be in the first 100.

Let me know in comments once $100 is no longer being received and I'll expire deal.

Link to T&Cs

Squirrel's High Interest Call has an annual interest rate of 4.00%, and funds are held on trust with a major bank so it provides a much better rate compared to depositing directly, with similar risk levels (equivalent is 1.95% at ANZ). The account is on-call, meaning you can withdraw your funds at any time and have it transferred to your bank account the same day if you're with a major bank.

Squirrel also offers peer-to-peer lending with varying interest rates ranging from 6.75% to 7.50%, depending on the investment type and term. The platform also operates a secondary market, allowing you to sell your investment if you need to liquidate your funds.

None of the above is financial advice.

    Thanks OP, signed up.

  • Do you have to set your investing account after signing in to possibly get 100$?

    • Yea I think you need to set up an investing account, but don't need to put anything in it yourself

      • All done, but it still says Awaiting verification (Done the driver license check with my cellphone)

        • Yea same, let's hope it comes in tomorrow!

          • @IslandStyles: Just read the T&c's:

            1. Squirrel will notify the first 100 investors to successfully complete their
registration by email when the $100 registration incentive has been
deposited into their Squirrel on-call account.
            2. The $100 registration incentive will be deposited into the Platform on-call
account of each ‘winner’ under this Promotion the following working day
              after successful registration is completed.
            3. Successful registration includes the completion of all verification
processes in relation to your identity and personal information to our
              satisfaction.

Should be coming in tomorrow for the lucky 100

Thanks OP gave it a shot. Lets See if the 100 appears.

Signed up as well, I’m guessing you don’t get the $100 till verified?

    • Looks like it should be deposited the business day after signing up, so hopefully tomorrow

  • I've signed up as well, let's see if it works :) Thanks mattk

    • Still on "awaiting verification" - had to send them a bank statement, sent days ago and still no response.

Considering the time of my signup there was 214 clicks on this deal and I saw the FB post Im assuming Im too late, but oh well we'll see how it goes :)

    • I signed up at 206 clicks and I’ve received a confirmation email that I am one of the first 100 people!

      • last email I received was "confirm you email" which I did, none today tho :(
well it was worth the shot at it

  • Hmm 31.

It does say where required by law or regulatory requirements. Wouldn't that be the same with things like banks?

      • its this part " without your knowledge or consent where we are permitted or"
its or not and so the law part doesn't apply to the prior

  • I signed up to this a few days ago and was told I was one of the first 100 as part of the verification process.

Something a bit concerning though.. I don't know if this is an Android/Samsung thing (I have an S23).. I've never experienced it before, but my login details are autosaved - when I type the first couple of letters of my email into the username field and then the rest of my email pops up, I click on it and.. the username field is then populated by my password…

  • I've marked as expired, highly likely more than 100 people signed up

  • My account still marked as waiting verification

I signed up yesterday late morning and I've been confirmed as one of the first 100

    • How'd they confirm. Via email?

      • Yes - they emailed me this morning to verify my bank details and in that email they mentioned it

    • I signed up early yesterday morning they didnt say for me.

  • Verified means sending them your bank statements.

    • You shouldnt need to send any bank statements for an investment account i dont think?

      • I expect it's for Anti Money Laundering compliance - they want to make sure the bank account details match the details they have for you - name, address, etc.

  • Thank you for posting this! I have signed up. Also was one of the first 100 and got $100.

  • Sounds like more than 100 people may have gotten it.

  • +1

I signed up at 10am yesterday and they only sent me an email today for Investment Bank Account Verification, asking me for bank account statement. I am not sending anything if i am not getting $100, as simple as that

    • Why do you think you aren't getting it?

      • I have no idea, i signed up before so many other people who have qualified. Might be random selections from their end I guess.

        • I would expect it would be based on the order of when people signed up. A family member said they saw an advert for this promo on Saturday on instagram and signed up then, but haven't yet sent in a PDF of their bank statement, but there was no mention of the $100 in the email they got. So they would have signed up before most people here signed up and before this page got posted. So will be interesting to see if they get it.

          • +1

@nzmax: I had a chat with them, they said I didn’t send them verification docs (bank statements etc.) in time otherwise i would have been selected for $100. But i am pretty sure some cheapies users got selected even without sending their personal docs. So it doesn’t make sense. Anyways i am going to close this investment account now.

            • @offroad: That sucks if that is the case and doesn't match the advertising. When they signed up on Saturday, they had to wait until Monday when they were sent an email to send in some verification documents and they were away on monday and didn't send them until Tuesday. So even though they would have been in the first 100 to signup. A screenshot of the ad does specifically show it says, be one of the first 100 to use the promo-code 100, and we'll pop $100 into your account.

              • +1

@nzmax: I know, false advertising, i have closed my account already

  • I signed up 12 mins after OP posted this post so around 945am. Mine still says awaiting verification :( oh well

    • +1

Yeah I was all done and signed up by 9:41 and didn't get it either.

    • Same here, I'm still "awaiting verification"…so nought for me.

  • I'm all verified and looks like I'll get the $100. Thanks OP!

Signed up at 8:55am the day the deal was posted. Sent verification docs today at 12:51pm. Verified at 9:05pm. Didn't get it :(

ChoiceCheapies. Agree with Offroad's thinking that unless any organisation, like Squirrel in this case, confirms to us applicants in writing, that they will honour the $100 promo bonus for us first before we agree to provide final verification personal info, then this should be a big red flag for us Cheapies and a so a "no go" IMHO!. (Given that this is just opening a standard financial account with no risk factor applicable to them, so no money "credit" provision by them to us and also no form of financial application contract type relationship, e.g a loan or mortgage etc. Am I I the only cheapie concerned about the huge amount of cheapies personal / sensitive info they are getting for free , by us providing alot of sensitive/private info for THEIR verification process. With only their $100 bait on offer to officially just the few "100 people"…?.

    • I agree

    • Whilst I agree that it seems over the top, there is no such thing these days as a standard financial account.
All financial providers are required by law to verify at least your name and address details before conducting any business with you.
It’s all to do with AML/CFT legislation.

It’s painful and one of the reasons I got out of the financial services industry a few years ago.

    • no way I would bother sending them any info without knowing

  • +1

In live chat just confirmed I wasn't one of the first 100…. I asked in live chat yesterday along with another question the staff member didn't answer question re: 100 , so today I asked again and advised he's side stepping and after an hour I got an response

He said I wasn't. I told him my info isn't free lol and won't be sending bank details in

So closed account lol ( there's an option to close account in setting)

Meh. That's what I suggest yall do unless.you got the 100 or want to use their service..

  • FYI: This is the email I got Before verification:

Thanks for coming on board with us as an investor.

To get you underway to invest, we’ll need you to:

Verify your nominated investment bank account and residential address.
To do this, please send through a recent PDF bank account statement OR confirmation of account document. (Screenshots are not sufficient). It must be less than 3 months old; unaltered; and, showing the nominated bank account, your name and residential address. Click here if you require instructions to download a PDF bank statement.
If your current residential address is not on the bank account statement, please feel free to send through a utility bill, rates notice, bank or government letter in addition to the bank statement.

I also see you’re one of the first 100 people to register so once verified there will be a $100 deposit added within 48 business hours.

Let us know how you get on and sing out if you need any assistance.

    Cheers,
