Hi all (second post) hopefully it help other cheapies. I have often used and followed Cheapies posts on Menulog specials (I appreciate they're overpriced, but these 15 dollar deals on 30 dollar spend lessen the pain). The last being https://www.cheapies.nz/node/34987

Yesterday I stumbled on to this promo code on Facebook which worked for me.

I use the Menulog app, checkout as a guest, gmail's Plus & dot Tricks to use same email. I have had no issues using the same cell phone number which has been quite handy. I delete my account once order made

Regarding the minimum spend I am not sure if delivery/services counted as part of the 30 spend, happy to edit post (or have it edited with update).

I am unsure how long this 'promo' will run for, have left expiry box empty (suspect it's meant to be a one off use, but evidently can used multiple times).

  • What's the best value for money in chch? I've got subway before which has free delivery over $30, which cans get you two subs

    • Not sure as not based in Christchurch. Subway actually not bad, here in Hamilton had free delivery and 30% off for lunch. Adds up quite nicely.

    • Doordash just started up in CHCH as well, so probably grab some referrals and get credit from previous posts here

  • Menulog is great until your order never arrives or missing items, customer service is terrible.

    • My two bad experiences:

      Around 2 years ago the driver delivered the order on the door step, took a photo and then picked up the order and left. I didn't know what happened initially, When I followed up with menulog he had claimed it had been delivered. Menulog chose to believe him over me, but little did he know my neigbours ring camera caught the whole thing. After 3 weeks of messaging back and forward and even providing video evidence I finally received a refund.

      Second time was even worse and happened earlier this year. The driver delivered the wrong order, I immediately told him it was wrong and he took it back and said he would return with our correct one. He never returned and marked as delivered and again Menulog chose to believe him over me. Little did he know that I had a ring door bell cam recently installed which caught the whole thing. I messaged back and forward for over 2 months, customer service kept saying that they are looking into this and couldn't give an eta. In the end I contacted menulog via facebook messenger and expalined my issue and received a refund immediately.

      • That sounds terrible. I've ordered with them twice, both over 2 years ago. Both times orders (instore pick-up) were cancelled, no reason given:

        Sorry, your order was cancelled
        First things first, your refund's on the way (if you were charged).

        This is for order number xxx from yyy.

        Never tried again.

      • I think moral of the story is to install a ring doorbell ;)

    • I've placed the order three times. The first went ok. The second got cancelled due to no drivers available in two hours. The third got 45 min delay. Overall bad experience.

    • My experience with menulog is similar to others; ordered, then 30 min before it was due to arrive the order is cancelled with no explanation. Ring up the shop, they try the hard sell to increase my order, wtf. Contact support to advise them of this poor experience; they couldn't care less.

      • After reading all these comments it seems best to pick up your order when given the option. Great savings though!!!

  • Thanks OP. Got me some KFC (my only option in rural Hamilton). New email, same card and phone number.

    • No worries at all, deal works for pick up too (even better as no service fees), I suppose in your case you will just need to use a semi-central address!

  • here in upper hutt mcdonalds u can order 30 bucks worth of food free delivery,theres just a 3 dollar service fee

    • Yea, there's free delivery currently if you spend certain amounts at popular national brands. Subway, Night n Day, Sals, etc.

  • strange on menulog u can order meals from Adda The Hotspot here in upper hutt, but i swear the place has been closed for a long time,i go past it all the time, even wen u google the name it says its closed, so i dont know why this restaurant is on menulog

    • restaurants don't notify menulog and also probably no customer has either or hasn't asked it to be passed on

      Happen to my brother in aussie, where there were all these diff food delivery places coming to get get food from this pizza place that had been long gone but still in their systems Told my brother to take picture of the place and forward it to support (they also need proof i guess in case other business try to shaft each other) when he asks for a refund

    • But for Menulog, if store does not confirm your order, it won't go through and you won't be charge a thing.

      • are u sure about that? ive read lotsa posts from people getting refunds cause the place didnt fufill there order

        • If the place has completely shut up shop, then no one is there to confirm your order. The disgruntled posts has (mostly) to do with delivery orders.

      • isnt your credit card charged first before the restaurant confirms order
