$249 Ryobi 18V ONE+ HP Brushless Compact 2-Piece Kit includes:

1x Hammer Drill
2x 4ah Batteries

  • Do you know how much these would normally go for?

  • Its only a 2A charger.
I think you need special house fuses etc for more than 10A

    • +1

Yeah that's my bad. Fixed now.

    • -1

Incorrect. it's 10A charge at 18 (21V max). So that makes it less than 1A draw at 240V.

    • Power tool chargers advertised current is typically the output current.

Do a dewalt charger outputting 12A to an 18v nominal battery, would be drawing roughly 1 amp from the wall (perhaps a little more due to inefficiency, elevated discharge voltage etc)

The 2A charger in this deal will draw cira 0.2 amps from the wall.

  • That’s the one I pointed out on the Ozito deal a week or two back.

I picked it up back then and it’s pretty solid.

  • I bought this a couple of months ago. Was 299. Good buy but the hammer drill kind of performs the same function as the impact drill so bit of duplication there, practically speaking. (not an expert though!).

    • Pretty sure the impact direction is different because of their intended use. In an impact drill, the impact direction is perpendicular to the bit whereas a hammer drill’s impact direction is parallel to the drill - similar to slamming a hammer on top of the bit.

      • Ahh that makes sense thank you!

  • the website say its a special order item, even at Mt Wellington where the OP shopped.
Will have to take a visit to Takanini and see what they have (if any)

Mt Wellington had an entire pallet yesterday afternoon. I even took a pic: https://freeimage.host/i/sbi6Xt

I did a click and collect so as not to miss out, only to see they have swags in stock.

      • Yeah this price has been there for quite a while now.

If starting from scratch I’d go this way over the Ozito

      • none in Takanini,

they had a sticker on the shelf but nothing there, looking like someone has already scooped them up

ill have to visit Manakau to have a look.

  • Wow this is cheap, I've got Makita personally but dont think you can go wrong with Ryobi at this price!

  • Anyone had any luck buying this? My father when to the Takanini branch to order it but was told by the lady at the counter it was discontinued. Seems a bit strange given it looks to be a relatively new product.

I ordered one online over a week ago.

I'm still waiting for it to be sent.

Maybe they have run out of stock if it's discontinued.

      • I'm still waiting for mine too.
Checking Bunnings website now this combo is now "out of stock" instead of "special order".
Hope can get it soon. Keeping fingers and toes crossed.

      • Edit: they called me back very quickly and had found the offer. Recommend calling if you're still waiting!

I ordered on the 27th to click and collect. Called the store this morning after no update and they'd never even received the order. They're looking into it and to try and find the stock and going to call me back. Bit of a shambles!

        • +1

Thanks. I just phone the branch, they say my order is showing "deleted" for some reason and someone will call me back tomorrow. Should have had driven to Mt Wellington to buy instead.

For those still waiting. I had the same issue but I went into Mt Wellington Bunnings this weekend (8 October) and they had a pallet of them on the floor so I just asked them to complete the order using the stock there.

The special orders desk didn’t know anything about the order when I spoke to them!

    • Westgate too. Just transferred my order there and picked up successfully 😁

      • Did you order it through online? And did you just ordered recently? I can't not see this item on Bunnings' website. Does this have the same price at store if you just walk-in?

        • +1

Just walk in to Westgate If you don't have online order. They have deleted this from their website. Physically They have 23 more left at toolshop as of 2.50pm.
Phone them and ask them to put one aside for you just in case.
