  • Do you get to keep these games forever? Also, can I sign up under NZ/Australia, or do I need to sign up under a different country?

    • Yep - you keep the games. Not sure about using Aus, but I saw I had a month's trial of Prime available on the US site so I'm going to use that.

    • As long as you claim the games on your account, you get to keep them forever.

And subscribing to Prime Video from NZ gives you prime gaming as well. A steal for 9.99/month if you ask me. Prime Video's catalog isn't as deep as Netflix and D+ but they still have some good stuff in there

        $8 a month isn't it?

        • +1

oh yeah sorry yep 8 bucks a month which includes the monthly free games from prime gaming and the prime video library which has The Boys and some decent exclusives.

          So yeah definitely worth it

  • So is this how it works? You sign up, use a trial of prime, add the games to your account, unsubscribe to prime, use the launcher/account to install the games?
Or is it like GoG where you download the install files?

    • +2

Yes - you get to keep the games, so you could use subscribe to Prime for a month, collect the games and then unsubscribe. Amazon gaming has its own launcher, so some of them will be on that and some of them will be codes for other launchers - GOG, Ubisoft etc

For instance I just activated my prime trial, and there's a bunch of in-game loot for a variety of games (LoL, Apex, Pokemon Go, Valorant etc) which you redeem by either linking your amazon prime account with the game or you get a code.

The current free games include games you claim which then show up in the prime launcher like Escape from Monkey Island and World Rally Cup 8, while the free version of Farcry 4 requires you to connect to a Ubisoft account.

  • almost worth it just for the games

  • I can only see 6 games free, am I missing something?

dealbot over at OzBargain had the time wrong by the look of things. Apparently starts at 7pm now.

      Also this comment

The big titles will only be available on Prime Day (July 12/13 or thereabouts due to time differences between Australia and the U.S.A). The other 25 titles can be downloaded from later today (once it becomes 21st June in the U.S.A.).

      • Cool, thanks

I can no longer get a free trial at Amazon AU (I've had Prime there already) but managed to get my second 30 day Prime free trial at Amazon.com. Think first one was last month through Prime video / Twitch.

Time to check your Prime Gaming accounts.

Mass Effect, Star Wars etc are now available to claim.
