Auto Copy/Dupe All Amazon Deals from OzBargain to Cheapies.nz

Lately with Amazon.com.au hitting full speed and with free postage to NZ (above $59), we are seeing more traffic to Amazon AU more than ever. But I for one, feel that we are missing lots of sales and promos from across the ditch. I have been visiting Ozbargain site regularly, but it is a pain to sort OZB posts just for Amazon deals since 80% or more of their entries are local shops like Ebay AU, or Harvey Norman AU, or Costco AU which cover their local market only.

Just thinking on top of my head here, since OZB and CC are actually sister sites, why don't we get all the deals from Amazon AU that posted on OZB and plainly copy it to CC? I reckon this is good so to eliminate posts with "copied from OZB deals" that sometimes appear when someone manually copy that deal from OZB to CC. Going further, maybe we can put auto sense code to check if the deal is still free postage to NZ, but we can do that for later.

    Not all of them are applicable to New Zealand. Many of those deals don't ship here. If you really want to see all of the Amazon AU posts on OzBargain, just click here

      Ok - how about this argument - why do we still need to go to 2 websites, since they are sisters anyway. And also to eliminate manual copy like these posts:

      Notice the timing of the posts. I only did brief programming professionally, but not sending to NZ check up should be easy isnt' it?

        Fair point. I think there will be many posts that won't seem as good when posted on Cheapies because the Ozzy versions get free shipping if you're a prime member.

        This for example. Cheaper to get it in NZ once you factor in shipping.

          For sure i know what you mean. I hate our cousins across the ditch for their cheap Quilton toilet rolls and free shipping! However my wife rolled her eyes full 360 when she found out that i got cheap 2kg of Lavazza coffee, 3 cups of ghee, and half dozen Oral B toothpaste for half the price of NZ's rrp with free shipping.

          I mean sure you have to filter the deals and get rid of those without free shipping, but again, i think from programming p.o.v, that should not be too hard.

            @stevarja: If you really want to get this idea moving, I reckon have a go at the talk to a moderator thread. I've used it a few times when coming up with ideas that I thought could be useful.

    Great idea although a lot of products don't even ship here even if you are willing to pay postage. It's a pain to open each deal to check whether or not it does. Filtering out the ones that don't would be very useful.

    I think its a great idea, I haven't found too many products that don't shit to NZ. And if the odd one doesnt it will get recognised.
