Only 3 left in stock and more on the way. I was checking the price of this monitor and saw a big drop in price today (was about NZD1,400). Shipped by Amazon AU. Only sold at computer lounge here for $1,999 according to pricespy so I think this is quite a good deal.

How well would a 3070 gpu (high end laptop) work with that type of monitor?

Just want to understand why do you ask this question why would X graphics card not work with X monitor? They’re all standard parts?

  • Would you get stung for duty since this is over the $1000 threshold?

    • It's included in price as it's shipped by Amazon AU. BTW, there is no more $1000 threshold. Any amount is target for duty.

      • Not really correct, I've bought multiple items under $1000 (electronics, designer clothes and antiques through official and auction sites) and not been charged duty. One of my items $1100NZD was charged a duty of about $360 last week.

        • Do you mean from Amazon AU?

Looks like Amazon AU pays duty on your behalf.
For items which have a customs value greater than $1,000 AUD/NZD, Amazon Global Store and AmazonGlobal will estimate and collect the taxes, customs duties, and fees which may apply to your order. Amazon Global Store will also permit the shipping carrier to clear your shipment through customs on your (or your recipient's) behalf. For your convenience, Amazon will estimate and collect at checkout an Import Fees Deposit together with the item price, and such funds will be used by the carrier to pay the relevant taxes, customs duties, and fees on your behalf, to the appropriate authorities.
But you are still correct that we still have $1000 threshold for whether duty is applied or not. GST is applied regardless of price.

Did you just make that up or do you just parrot things you hear without a cursory glance to check if they are correct ? https://www.customs.govt.nz/personal/duty-and-gst/whats-my-d…

  • You can still order but OOS with even at cheaper price now.

I would be wary of buying gigabyte monitor without a solid local warranty, just had my monitor RMA'ed merely 6 month after bought it. Good thing it was bought from Computer Lounge and they immediately gave me a brand new replacement.
Many people online also complained how their stuff had bad QC so more often than not you need to RMA them.
Not sure if Amazon AU honour the CGA (doubt it) and if you try to go through the official website for RMA they will ask you to do that with the trader instead.

    • I'd say your safe ordering through Amazon. I once got some headphones from Amazon UK sent directly here, they crapped out after 11 months, and as that model had been discontinued Amazon just gave me a full refund. Managed to get a friend to fix them and so I ended up with a free pair of headphones.
