Free From Gluten (White Corn Flour) Mexican Tortillas 10pk $1 @ Countdown

40

Randomly spotted this on the Countdown website.

They look quite small. Mixed reviews. Some say it falls apart quite easily and tastes average on its own. Others say it tastes alright and recommend using em as a toastie, pizza base, part of a lasagne, or for quiche cupcakes. Worth a $1 gamble?

These are quite dry, best to wet them a bit before preparing for good results, bit difficult to use straight out of the packet.

    • Worth $1?

I think so but I'm a glutard so for others cheap wheat tortillas might be better value and easier to prepare.

They are very crumbly. Using them in a GF lasagne is an inspired idea - way cheaper than a tiny $5 box of GF lasagne sheets. They won't roll without breaking for enchiladas unfortunately.

  • These are absolutely disgusting and smell awful

I have bought these at $1 and regretted it. It made me feel really bad for those with a gluten intolerance

    • I'll expire deal then if they're shiitteee.

      Cheers for the input everyone.

I suppose it's a good deal for the gluten intolerent, because it was right in line with the other bread subs I've tried
