I'm an old no fees red warehouse visa card holder and haven't activated the new purple visa card they automatically sent me, since fees will be incurred from 19th March 2022 didn't see the point since have other fee card with better rewards scheme. If you're in the same camp, check your emails or the T&C link, technically you could activate, get the $30 rewards purple dollars to spend at participating retailers (https://www.purplevisa.co.nz/cards/purple-visa-card), then cancel card before 19th March 2022.

  I never activated my purple card, closed the account when the red card stopped working.

    Yeah i imagine a lot of existing card holders did the same, or activated just to get the 5% warehouse discount and cancel prior to the fees coming into place.

  i activated mine and was planning to cancel before the fees kicked in… but have used it quite a bit and the 5% discount and purple dollar rewards will easily cover the annual fees.

  my biggest gripe is they don't support apply pay- so have to remember to bring the card everywhere.

    5% is only until end of March tho, or did I miss something? No annual fee until then, but after it’s a pretty average rewards card imo

  Purple visa, It's about interest free credit and getting people into debt just like zip and afterpay were penalty interest and late payment fees is where the money is made.
