  Had bought one of the reolink. Drains battery fast and the battery type it uses are expensive

    Don't they use 18650s? You can just salvage some from an old laptop battery pack.

      If he's referring to the Reolink Argus (1st generation outdoor cam) yeah that is kind of a crappy old product and it uses a CR123 battery. You can buy rechargeables for those on Aliexpress.

      I bought two of those Argus's cams and never really deployed them since they only start recording when they detect motion, and there's too many false positives with that sort of system.

      You can't buy the Argus 1 anymore since there's now a second and third gen product with built in rechargeables that can be topped up with a solar panel.
