I was looking at this deal too, but it's a bit confusing or even "misleading"…

They say the value of the deal is $26 (for one combo stated above) so even if it's their most expensive "single" BURGER (without extra meat I assume, where there's an option to double it once you select the menu for $5) at $15 + FRIES, which didn't specify the size (regular or large) but let's say it's the regular at $4.5 + $3 for any 330ml DRINK = $22.50…

    There's no way it's a value of $26? Unless it's the large fries at $5.50 + 600ml drink at $5.50 = $26… But this isn't the deal…

Maybe just me but it quite bugs me when businesses/people are not accurate and "cheeky" in their promotion.
    1. The size of fries in the deal is unclear when they have two sizes available.
    2. The "value" and thus the discount amount of this deal is unclear, confusing and unreliable.

    • Same with kebab deals as well. They like to jack up the RRP. You arrive at the store, then you see a "lunch special” sign for about the same price as the grabone deal. D'oh!

      • How annoying… At least the lunch special wasn't a better deal. Then things can get serious now haha

Grabone are shocking to continue allowing this.
I've found it misleading as well around some buffet offers in Wellington.

      • Exactly. I think people don't tend to do their "research" on what they are eating and purchasing hence no questioning and complaining about these "deals" where Grabone continues…

    • Yep, they did this recently with a curry deal, there was literally no way to make it tally to what they were saying it was worth based on the menu costs. Totally misleading. I imagine grabone encourage it for more sales

Just why would they do that right? It's pretty pathetic… I mean deals are good even if you can save like a buck from what you would get anyway. But misleading promotion is just a matter of time of losing credit and no returning customers etc which is crucial for businesses to survive especially food retail.

  • $26 for one burger combo? Yikes…

  • Wow seems to be expensive for a burger at $26. I’d rather have buffet at price of $25…

They have the same deal on Tuesdays for $14.

    • Is the Grafton store very new? I saw some advertising for them on Stuff or something last week or so. Never heard of them so clicked on the banner ad, I thought when I checked out their store list there were none in Auckland. Don't know if I just didn't look properly or it wasn't on their list

      • Opened on Monday!

        • Ah I see. Checked and it was the 6th I first saw their ads. (Saw it a few times more after.) Seems like they're in the midst of trying to expand, still their advertising campaign on Stuff started a little early. Would assume Stuff allows location targeted ads and knows I'm in Auckland and if they don't for one or both, seems to make sense to hold off a few days. If their store website did mention Grafton coming soon, I didn't see it. Doubt I was the only one and if I hadn't seen this post and wondered what people were saying about them would have just ignored future ads. Well maybe if the ads say Grafton store now open. Of course it's possible the ads were scheduled weeks ago and their store opened a little late :-P
