I went to Andy's to ask what was the $9.90. The chick was like "What does it look like in the photo? It was the Chicken burger and chips." A little passive aggressive, it wasn't super clear anywhere.

For those curious, Fish and Chips normally like 23.90 and Butter chicken 20.90.

Also, it's just a Papadam. It's like a thin flour snack. Not a Naan :D

Wow. Yeah it’s not clear. I would’ve hit back with “it looks like the most expensive burger on your menu to me” 😂

Thanks, for the clarification. Didn’t realise!

      • One could argue the burger in the photo looks like a beef burger, I prefer beef burgers :D

It's quite clearly not a beef patty. It's fried.

I agree that their advertising is lacking information, however their Instagram page shares more details.

        • Looks like you got your wish. The Andy’s $9.90 special is now a beef burger 🤣

They changed it when extending the promo.

    • doesn’t include chips btw

      • It doesn’t after being extended yeah. I think they realised they messed up economically 🤣

  • Seems cheap… Small dishes?

Na it's decent size for 9.90 in CBD. Like you get decent amounts of chicken inside. For fish and chips, my fish was a bit mushy.
Overally they would be either cost or losing a little money. It's mainly to get the people through the door gambling. Plus you need to sign up membership and if you don't live or work in CBD then pay for carparking which is super expensive.

I find that having a dinner with 2+ people twice a year (6 ish months apart) at one of the Sky City restaurants (Masu, Cassia, Huami, etc) equates to enough spend ($200 on dinner) for a blue card which I then get plenty of free points a year (1500+), enabling me to park at Sky City at the rate of 100 points per carpark.

Not your basic level cheapie hack but I'd say quite an accessible benefit.

6 months because you need to spend $200 every 6 months to maintain the sapphire status.

        • Yep, and four free drinks in the casino.

          • +1

@chammh: 4 free drinks per day yep.

        • How do you get free points of 1500+, seems quite a lot?

          • @greenerpastures: When you upgrade from Ruby to Sapphire one of the gifts you could get is 1500 points.

On your birthday if you are sapphire you get 1500 points.

I've got 1000 points once or twice from random promos (e.g. spend $10 on pokies).

          • @greenerpastures: Visit the casino every public holiday, they are giving free credits as well.
