    $129.99 at ShaverShop
+ free shipping (over $50) and $10 off if you're a new user.

Alternatively, pricematch at Briscoes to bring it down to $125.10

    • Thank you

    • Would Briscoes not price beat shaver shop by 10% to make it $117?

      • Good point. It's possible. just unsure if Briscoes would pricematch with them.

        • I asked Briscoes in Palmerston North a while back and they wouldn't pricematch. Just a FYI

          • @shijo046: I think different briscos honor price match not all will many do I didn't have any problem at Christchurch

If you don't need the smart features consider the oral B pro 2000.

$98.95 at ShaverShop + free shipping (over $50) and $10 off if you're a new user.

    • The case is quite handy if you travel a bit. Also found the 7000 has quite a good battery life on it but can't comment on the 2000 one.

      • They both have Lithium Ion Batteries, so I would guess they're similar?

But I have found my pro 2000 to have decent battery life also

For those that have a smart toothbrush, do you find yourself using any of the smart features after 6-12 months? Seems like a novelty to me but then I've never had a smart toothbrush before

    • Never used the smart phone features. Girlfriend uses it to change the coloured led only.
Its a good tooth brush though

    • I have the Oral-B 8000

Never use the app. Only use the normal and “whitening” mode on the toothbrush itself.

Great toothbrush though, amazing how much of a difference it makes in comparison to a manual toothbrush or a cheap electric toothbrush.

My dentist said the difference between the $25 electric brush and the more expensive ones are the cheap ones just rotate, the expensive ones push in and out as well as rotating.
        They do seem more powerful

I have used braun 5000 trimph I had imported from Germany like 8 years ago , I never really used any smart features ,

I got sonicare Philips easy clean it's cost like 40 nzd with free shipping from eBay it's excellent you have to buy charger separately it's basic but the cleaning action is just as good as say diamond clean which cost 200 nzd or more .

But below easy clean model's the performance is not the same

For Philips I got my partner a more advance model which has different intensity and modes and she does use them so I guess it depends on the person

For Braun any or all toothbrush which has 3 d action the performance of cleaning is same

Did anyone use the 9000? Is it worth the extra money?

I think it is a waste but my GF likes it.
The case has a battery in it, so you can charge it on the go without a wall outlet - I don't think with general use this would even be used. You could change your phone from it. The case is larger because of it.
It has a tongue cleaner mode, which I wouldn't use.
It has a different colour on the actual toothbrush (not the led light)
It has slightly less battery life on the actual brush. case + brush probably has more though.

It's a personal preference thing, if you have the money and like the additions, then go for it, if you are frugal and wont use the extra features, just get a 2000-8000 one.

      • Thank you, that's very insightful.

        • It has a turbo mode to brush deeper remove tartar and more plague faster plus 2 USB port to charge your brush and phone on the go. If you are going to shell out 150 40 extra for 9000 flagship is worth it.

Very hard to find oral-b specs. Braun don't publish them. But, some 3rd party websites do.

Need to check oscillations and pulsations per minute. Disregard bluetooth/apps/timers. All gimmicks. Cheap model with high oscillations / pulsations is just as good as the higher spec models. I guess this is why braun don't publish specs.

Chemist Warehouse has the Oral B Genius 8000 for $143.99 at the moment.

  • I bought the 7000 for $100 at noel leeming last year . I find smart feature in the 7000 utterly useless . It connects tmr your smart phone via Bluetooth and says hurray you spent 2 min brushing ! That’s it . (If just using gum care brushes, get the 2000 . )
8000 onwards “detects” the time you spent brushing each zones . And by the way it shares the charger as the cheapest Or b model , someone to keep in mode when the twin model goes on sale .

    • I think the 7000 is still more competitive in this case even though you don't need the smart features. The 7000 comes with 3 brush heads and a travel case when the 2000 only one brush head. The price difference is just $30.

Hi guys, just bought the 7000 off Briscoes Upper Riccarton for $117. They honored the price beat. Thanks @Wakrak.

    • Great news. So what do we need to do? Just walk into the shop and show the price it's available elsewhere?

      • +1

Walk in and ask for price beat with Shaver Shop. They will check the price from their computer.
