Probably the cheapest way to get dental care around, as it's the AUT dental hygiene school students in their final year. Anyone can go, don't need to be associated with AUT. Bear in mind they don't do fillings or more serious treatments, if you need that and still want it cheap, go to the Otago Dental School, also in Auckland.

Basically you pay once in the calendar year and can go for up to 5 standard cleaning and assessment appointments for that one low price. Any extra treatment is priced as below

I know Cheapies will be keen to hear this too but they have also given me free toothpaste, floss and toothbrushes when I ask

OVERVIEW

Niho Ora ki Manukau (Oral Health Manukau) operates as a teaching clinic. Second and third-year AUT oral health students enrolled in the Bachelor of Health Science (Oral Health) provide oral health care supervised by experienced and registered oral health practitioners and strictly following Dental Council guidelines, standards and competencies.

As this is a student clinic, your treatment may take more than one appointment.

Please note: We do not offer services to provide immediate relief from acute pain in adults.

Free dental examinations and treatment for children and adolescents until their 18th birthday

Free preventive oral health care for hapū (pregnant) māmā and pēpē (baby)

Periodontal (gum) treatments

Comprehensive examination and oral health assessments

Diagnostic dental radiographs (x-rays) to assess teeth and bone conditions

Full mouth scale and polish (removal of plaque and calculus/tartar), with local anaesthetic (numbing) if required

Diagnostic saliva testing

Oral cancer screening and risk assessment

Bleaching (whitening) tray and mouthguard fabrication

Information about how to look after your teeth and gums, and products you may need

Specialist referrals

Costs for Niho Ora ki Manukau services
The cost of your treatment at the AUT oral health clinic in Manukau is determined by the assessment of your oral health, including any identified issues or problems.

Following the initial consultation, you will be provided with an estimate for the treatment expenses. Please note that your treatment may take up to five appointments to complete.

Children (<18 years)
Exam, radiographs, fillings, scale and prophylaxis polish = Free

Adults (no Community Services Card)
Assessment, radiographs if required, scale and prophylaxis polish (full course of care) = $60

Additional appointment (includes review) = $20

Adults (Community Services Card)
Assessment, radiographs if required, scale and prophylaxis polish (full course of care) = $40

Additional appointment (includes review) = $10

Other services

Tooth whitening (stent and kit) = $230

Mouthguard
From $210* (plus $40 for additional colours (if more than two) and $45 for any graphics)

Hapū (pregnant) māmā and pēpē (baby) up to 9 months= Free

Staff and students of AUT = 20% discount
