  • Thanks OP
just emailed and seems like i was the 1st one got a session booked for 22nd July

  • If you have concerns about your hearing go for a free hearing test.
    Here's a post
    https://www.cheapies.nz/node/56368
Bay Audiology also offers a "quick" assessment. If there are issues then you can go for a more extensive test.
Perhaps the assessment from OP is more extensive but I find the normal price of 70 done by a student to train on the payer is ridiculous.
I also find the way OP emphasizing "Master" students without mentioning there is no bachelor of audiology misleading. The way its portrayed makes it seem the student have already done years in audiology. When in reality there is no undergrad audiology and the student may have done a pop health degree have have 1 semester of audiology.

  • Thinking about taking my 6 year old to this - has been under an ear, nose and throat specialist for 5+ years but would like to hear about anyone's experience taking a child to this

  • $10 for a comprehensive hearing test is worthy of a cheapies mention. Yes, most (all?) the hearing places offer you a "free" test, but they would almost always find an issue, and gently pressure you into a comprehensive test anyway.

The other problem though. When they find an issue what are you gonna do? It's a bit different to a glasses prescription. I don't know any audiologist that will allow you to just come in and order hearing aids without THEM doing a test first themselves. So unless these guys can also sell hearing aids, and do the necessary follow up appointments, it is kind of pointless paying for this. Unless you are just doing it for interest or to help out the students with their study credit.
