Probably the best value for money at the moment for a gaming laptop, if only in terms of raw specs.

Pros:
- Ryzen 7 offering great single-core and especially multi-core performance.
- Radeon RX 5600M performs between the GTX 1660ti and RTX 2060.

Cons:
- Internal temperatures get very high according to forum posts, although a bios update partially fixes that.
- Somewhat of a test-bench for the seldom used RX 5xxxM GPU series, a fair few reports of driver issues as a result.
- Plastic construction leaves concerns about long-term durability.
- At 2.5kg you won't want to be carrying it around all day.

Unsure:
- Uses a 120hz screen, while all reviews are of either the 60hz or 144hz options. A mere 250nits brightness according to the specs though.

    • Using notebookcheck.net comparisons:

      • The Ryzen 7 4800H CPU in the Dell is far faster than the i7-9750H in the MSI: about 5% in single thread applications and 50% in multi-threaded applications.
      • The RX 5600M GPU in the Dell is about 10% faster than the GTX 1660Ti in the MSI. The GTX has a better video encoder/decoder however if that matters to you.

      • The Dell has a bit better battery life.
      • The HDMI port on the MSI is only version 1.4 compared to the 2.0 on the Dell. If you want to run an external 4K TV or monitor from the MSI you are limited to 30fps.
      • The MSI is significantly lighter than the Dell, 1.86kg vs 2.5kg.
