Got an email from Farmers offering $100 and annual fee waived off for first year.

1. To be eligible to redeem this offer you must have a current Farmers Club Account and have been the recipient of the promotional email from Farmers advising of the Farmers Club Offer valid from 21 October until 11:59pm NZST 27 October 2020 (“Offer Period”).
2. To be eligible to redeem this offer you must enter the promo code ‘FARMERSCLUB’ on your application, have linked an active Farmers Club Card to your Farmers Mastercard at the time of application, have spent a minimum of NZD$50 on your Farmers Mastercard by 11:59pm 17 November 2020.
3. If a valid Farmers Club Card is not linked at the time of application, you will not be eligible to collect the Farmers Club Points portion of the ‘FARMERSCLUB’ offer but may remain eligible for the rest of the offer.
4. This promotional offer is valid only for all new accounts opened from approved, eligible online Farmers Mastercard applications received within the Offer Period and excludes new accounts created in line with Long Term Finance purchases including Flexi pay purchases and fixed instalments. Other fee’s associated with Purchases and Long Term Finance still apply.
5. Eligible new Farmers Mastercard accounts created during the Offer Period will receive 1,250 Farmers Club Points (amount is equal to $100 worth of Farmers Club Vouchers) on their Farmers Mastercard account by the 20 November 2020 and will have the annual account fee (NZD$50) waived for the first year. Note that the first instalment of the $50 Annual Account Fee ($25) will initially be charged to your account but will then be refunded back to your Farmers Mastercard account within 10 working days.   Can I cancel just before a year? Is there any hidden fees or T&C I should concern?

    There doesn't appear to be a minimum term, so there would be nothing preventing you from cancelling the card prior to the second year beginning.
    I wouldn't be surprised if a number of people cancelled the card in January after they spent the $100 credit on Xmas gifts or in Boxing Day sales.

  We were unable to validate the Club Card number. Please check the number and try again, or you can add the Club Card number in My Account.

      I applied about a month ago.. switched from normal Farmers Card to Farmers MasterCard. The promotion was for 1000 club points which translates to $80 club spend. While applying I had a similar issue where I was unable to link my card to my account. I did that after completing the application and never received any points to date. Have called them multiple times but with no positive outcome. I would suggest if you are facing this issue then call them straightaway rather than later as chances are you will not receive any points if you do not link a card at the time of applying.
