I thought this was a pretty good price for a solid phone. $179.99 USD plus shipping and GST comes to about $330 NZD all up. Obviously no local warranty.

Currently on sale at PB Tech for $499, was $549.

Personally, I wouldn't spend $330 on this. It's a mid-range phone from 2019 and specs is rather MEH to be honest. At $330, you can find many other decent alternatives out there that are better bang for your buck. For example, the Redmi Note 9 Pro has better specs, is cheaper $317 and with free shipping:

There's also the Poco F1, which I remember buying for $350 around 2 years ago and so it should be cheaper now (but should still be better than the Moto G8+). There are plenty of options out there.

Agree it's a better phone, but it's not cheaper:
      NZD$364 incl GST.
      $317 is excluding GST.

      • bought the redmi note 9 pro for 325aud, including shipping to nz, today from tobydeals

        • Congrats, 6/128GB for NZD$353? Better than the Ali 6/64GB option if that's the case. Interested to know when you receive it in NZ.

    • Hi my phone just about to die, and i am looking for replacement, which one would you recommend please ? i have budget around $300

      Thank you

      • I would have recommended this one, but you've missed it by a week:

At $300, it's a bit hard to recommend a decent mid-range phone. You might be able to pick up the Poco F1 for around $300 brand new and it's a fantastic phone (check the reviews online). But that phone came out 2 years ago, so there's that. I'd say wait a bit and look out for any good deals on Aliexpress or Cheapies for Xiaomi phones, or OnePlus if you can get them cheap.

  • Which of these cheaper but feature packed phone options support Android one.
Is the Xiaomi running this for example?

Wife currently has a Nokia and the Android one OS support has been awesome. Solid updates very quickly.
