I received an email from Ice Breaker with a 20% discount 'unique' code.
I love their socks and was wanting to buy some more so took a look to see if I could stomach the price after applying the discount and to my pleasure found that in addition to my personal 20% off code they are also running a site wide tiered discount where you get set amounts off depending upon your spend.
$50 off a spend of $200+ (potential 17-25% off)
$100 off a spend of $300+ (potential 20-33% off)
$150 off a spend of $500+ (potential >30% off)
Additionally, I noted that where they previously only provide free shipping for orders over $99 that now it is free shipping across the board.
The best value for their discount levels is when spending as close to the $300 mark. I order socks for myself and my partner that (after the 20% discount code) came to $307 which meant that after the tiered discount came to a total of $207. The RRP on this with no discount would have been $385 so essentially a 46% discount.. ignoring the fact I just spent over $200 on socks the per sock price was much easier on my stomach.
Regardless of the cost of their socks, I have to say they are fantastic, very comfortable and well fitting (as I have heard are other items of Ice Breaker), and coupled with their lifetime guarantee on their socks I wont be convinced to buy any other sock.
socks are good if you're into the "buy it for life" ethos- they have a lifetime warranty so you can replace them if they got holes. otherwise pretty expensive gear.
