It is smaller and when I paid to go in last year it was not very busy which is nice.
You cannot pay to enter the Koru but you can for Strata, there are also others with fancy credit cards that get free entry.
I was travelling from Christchurch to the USA so it was worth it for my 3.5hr transit so I could get a couple of meals in and a free shower and refresh before the long flight.

Overall not as nice as koru - worse food, atmosphere and facilities - but if you've got a long stopover $40 isn't too bad.
AMEX provides you 2 free passes to it per year (as well as 2 free passes to the amex lounge in Melb/syd)

actually quite decent. good range of food and drinks, but with mini fridge of alcohols.
not as crowded as the koru lounge where everyone and their kids seems to be.
