  I was surprised they are not 7200rpm drives as i have a ST2000DM008 which are, then i see some Reddit threads about it and then questioned if they are SMR drives as the data sheet states TGMR.
  i have 2x 6TB drives shucked which are Archive drives.

    Are your ST2000DM008's Barracuda PRO's by any chance? Because the standard Barracuda's are 5400rpm, 2year warranty and then the Pro's are 7400rpm, 5year warranty… usually. Sounds like you were lucky with your ST2000DM008 as that by all accounts should be 5400rpm according to that reddit post.

    That said with Seagate, I go (and recommend) no less than their IronWolf Pro range.
