  • hi i have tried to buy umbrella online, but it doesn't give me half price….? thank you

    • The post says that the 50% discount applies on the weekend (19 & 20 Jan 2019).

I suggest waiting until tomorrow, then try again.

      Alan.

Isn't applied to items already discounted (white sticker price only)
So no go on clearance items :x

      • thank you very much, it works now….new brolly…for winter…

Free shipping code still works (dealsgalore)

    RRRFW72

  • Does it exclude anything?

    • Going by the wording "everything". I have my fingers crossed 😁

      • TV add says everything :)

  • Give it a week you will get 70% off :D

  • +4

This is really good for those items that are never discounted beyond their minimum discount (e.g. xx% to 70% storewide).

If you want an oral B toothbrush for example, you can get the Pro 2000 model for $90 which you won't find cheaper anywhere else. Maybe coffee makers and things like that as well.

    • Anyone has a list of items that Briscoes don't usually discount beyond, say, 30% off?

And If you're interested in something, check the price tonight and see if it's really 50% off tomorrow.

      • +1

I know the cleaning stuff (mops, brooms etc) doesn't usually drop below 30%

  • Hmmm, not everything online is 50% off … false advertising?

    • *Discounts off white sticker price & not additional to existing reductions. Excludes the purchase of gift vouchers.

      • So half the stuff on the site is still at full price, there is no existing reduction so I assume that is the white sticker price….. They are not 50% off …. not even the usual 30% off.

Wait until morning, I think it updates gradually. You see this sort of thing when sales end as well.

      • +1

Yes, their site seems to update item by item and can take a couple hours to get through their massive inventory I guess. I saw some items changed soon after midnight and others took until closer to 1am.

  • FYI - looks like some items (like coffee machines), have been raised up to a higher price before the discount.

    • I just checked a Breville Coffee machine that is usually very popular one was on the website before midnight and now has completely disappeared.

      • I bought one of these at the Noel Leeming sale for $539, it is great
        http://www.briscoes.co.nz/kitchen/appliances/coffee-machines…

        • I did as well few years ago. Was looking for the dual boiler model.

        • That's popular one I was talking about it, couldn't find it last night, thanks. Yeah $539 is a great price for that one!

          • @Hamster: Yeah I got lucky at the Breville stand they had a few. I would say for the price its does a descent cup of coffee. You could do price match at Noels and buy the 3 year super warranty for $55 for piece of mind.

@Sqishy: Briscoes do a price beat, so cheapest price elsewhere less 15% . Does this a few times.

              • @kiwijunglist: Thanks, that's good to know although looking at Briscoes website it is now only price beat by 10% but still worth having, especially on an expensive item or when buying multiple items.

  • Amazing!

  • +1

Good for items not normally in sales. But I did bought my old shaver 75% off and they're only ever 30-50% off now so I'd say if you don't need it and can wait there might be better deals

    • Spot on. Its their inflated RRP that is the deal breaker. But we are all charmed by that Briscoes lady, so…

    • +1

Well they semi regularly do 25 or 30% to whatever (60% or 70%) discounts, so 30% is the minimum discount you should expect off Briscoes. But some items e.g. at least 2 years ago, pegs and I think laundry racks very rarely go above the 30%. Other items you can probably find them 50% or even more than 50% off at regular intervals.

  • +2

Before you buy anything note they are 50% of the RRP$ so go check on pricespy, often Harvey Norman or Noel Leemings have better deals already :)

What items are not normally 50% off at Briscoes?

    • Breville, brushes brooms, raven branded items, oxo and umbra brands. I spent 280 yesterday such a win

    • Yeah, the vacuum accessories never go beyond 30%, so there are some decent deals on those.

  • +6

For the real cheapies out there like myself, sodastream syrups are $5 on this sale, go into mitre10 and they'll beat it by 15%. Cheapest syrups prices you'll find!

    • Surely you wouldnt do this just for 1? How many would you get to make it worth it?

    • Yes I got this too! Such great brand with a low price.

      • out of stock online now, but I got it before at a hot price which is more than 50% off..

        • Cheaper than $65? That's impressive, as kmart sells theirs for 59

  • Thanks for posting, As others have said, there are some definite good deals here but dont assume everything, they start at such a high price point only some stuff is worth a look. A couple of things I can see online are definitely pretty good.

I've found this site while looking to see if any of the items are at their cheapest ever price:

    https://pricehistory.co.nz/briscoes/home

This site have price histories of most, if not all Briscoes items dating back to 2017.

Note: You can still order online with free click-and-collect at select stores.
