  If i compare this with an Samsung 840 Evo 240gb (non pro), they appear to be similar specs - the disk size can any1 comment whether this will have the same speeds?

    I wouldn't expect 840 EVO level performance. Obviously faster than a traditional disk but wouldn't expect performance comparable to more premium brands. I'm going to put mine in a cheap external Orico caddy.
