This ones a little outside the box. But for anyone knowing what an ICO is or anyone new to cryptocurrency then this is worth a go to get your foot on the crypto ladder.

Edit: I've added a guide below for a simple way to get the 75 tokens.

Anyway there's a new ICO(Initial Coin Offering, basically the equivalent of a share float on the stock market) from Authorship.com. Anyone signing up to their mailing list will get 75 ATS tokens worth $US10.00 for free. The company will list on the bigger exchanges on 14th September and if all goes to plan, and their projections are correct, these coins could have a 10x opening. Yep $US100 for a few minutes work signing up is damned worth it. I have my 75 ATS tokens minutes from signing up.

What does ATS stand for and what is it?

Authorship Token. The ATS, an ERC-20 token based on the Ethereum technology, is a unit of exchange on a new Blockchain based book publishing system. Authors, publishers and translators are rewarded with ATS tokens in exchange to book sales, while readers are able to spend ATS tokens in order to purchase books. The tokens will be exchangeable to/from real money both directly on the Authorship platform (deposit/withdraw area) and through several cryptocurrency exchange platforms who are going to list the ATS tokens.

While we can only speculate about the future value of ATS tokens, 500%-1000% is usually a common among successful ICOs.
ATS tokens have a limited supply of tokens. There are only 100 M tokens available, and there will never be more. What this means for you, as an investor?
The publishing industry accounts for $100 Billion of annual revenue. If Authorship manages to attract even just 1% of the industry volume (meaning that all we need to do is convince 1 in 100 authors to join us), the Authorship’s annual revenue would be $1 Billion.

$1 Billion split into 100 M tokens, results a minimum value of $10/ATS token, if we manage to attract as low as 1% of the publishing industry through our platform. Compared to the starting price of 15 cents/token, that’s almost 100 times higher.

And Authorship plans to reach that point in just 2 years! How do you think potential investors are going to react to such an opportunity once we hit exchanges? ATS could reach the $10 price point from the very first months.

There is no reason why we should not achieve our objective: we’ve got a growing team of experts, we’ve got all the connections to the publishing world, we’ve got thousands of authors who’d join the upcoming platform as soon it’s live.

You will need an Ethereum(ETH) wallet address but this can be set up pretty quickly with the many that are available. Myetherwallet is a very easy one to set up if you don't already have an ETH address.

I'm telling all my non crypto friends to give this a go. For free, they can get onto the crypto hype train and see what an ico launch is like and get to know a little of what this fascinating, great tech is going to offer in the coming years.

I would have killed to try and get into something as easy as this a few months back, I've researched the hard way of getting into cryptcurrency and since my first bitcoin purchase on 1st July have absolutely enjoyed the ride. To get a free go at something that can be daunting for newbies is a great way to experience what its like to be in the crytocurrency world :)

Go to https://www.myetherwallet.com/

Enter your password, click on download and save that file, click I understand, click print paper wallet and save it as a pdf. Open the pdf and copy the ETh wallet key.

Your Eth wallet key will look like this - 0xd86Cf04BeeFdA26f43e85013688192A83Fc82AD5. (Don't use the other longer key)

Go to Authorship site, using one of the referral links above(use mine for good karma lol) and scroll down a little to where the free tokens are available. Enter your details with your ETH wallet key in the third field.

You'll get sent an email, confirm your sign up, your 75 ATS tokens will be in your account. Get 10 extra tokens with the facebook/twitter follow pages.

Wait till the listing on 14th Sept to see how far(high/low can go either way) the price has gone.
The listing price is 0.15c. Projections currently are for the ATS coins to be a bit higher. You will get the ATS coins transferred to the ETH address provided, so make sure you keep your paper eth wallet save.

        You could check your balance at https://etherchain.org/ but even though ATS are kept in your ethereum wallet, they aren't ethereum.. so if anybody knows?

      I've only got a 4 yr old laptop, i5, 4gb, 630m card and tried mining Groestlcoin. In 24 hours I managed to get 0.75, worth pennies.

        That's not bad really, for next to no cost.

        I'm using Minergate app, as part of their pool. Not the best reputation, but it works for the small scale stuff I'm doing.

    Thanks . I sold all my bitcoin earlier in the year using the localbitcoins marketplace and haven't been following prices since but just had a look at prices and WOW, if i had held on to them till now i would have got about 75k instead of 15k

      And I'll make your Sunday worse as there was a recent hard fork giving 1 BCH for 1 BTC held. For free. Currently $us635/coin. Sorry.

      Boggles the mind what money you could have made if you got in at the start. There are some very rich nerds out there. Also some very sad ones who lost their bitcoin wallets or just threw them away thinking its worthless.

      Currently anyone investing in the crypto universe are still early adopters, about 0.015% of the population. Even if you buy a bitcoin now at $us4000 each, and adoption rates go to even 1%, that bitcoin will be worth $US50,000 through scarcity and demand. Not my forecast many news articles predicting this.

      The free altcoins here is going to be interesting to follow. Right now there's good buzz for ATS and this ICO. I'm close to investing 1 ETH with them and see where the ride takes me. The list price will be 15c per ATS. I'm predicting a closing price of 50c on day 1.

        The downside of BTC skyrocketing is that transactions are getting so expensive!
        Currently minimum US$4 per transaction, makes bank fees seem cheap.

    1 ATS will have a recommended starting trading price, through exchanges of $0.15 (15 cents), no matter what amount we raise.
    Why we believe 1 ATS will have a MINIMUM price of $0.15
    There are a total of 100M ATS tokens. At a price of $0.15 , the total ATS Market Cap will be $15M.
    As per CoinMarketCap.com , over 200 coins have a market cap above $15M. 200 coins out of the total of 1000 coins in existence have a market cap over $15M.
    This means that we only need to make it into the top 200 coins to be worth a minimum of $0.15
    If we make it into the Top 100, the price will be 3-4 times higher.

      Heya Kendo, wait till its listed on the 14th. You'll get the transfer after the listing, so our time 15th I guess, but no idea when how long after the listing the ATS will be transferred, no one knows yet hope they clarify this closer to the time.

    Hey all the token offer for this has finished, and the coins will be listing overnight. Not sure which exchanges yet but bittrex has been mentioned a few times.

      I didn't get mine - I missed the email that said you had to apply to withdraw, and apparently they decided that anyone that hadn't submitted were fraudulent or were not worth their time.

      There's a lot of talk about it at bitcoin talk, many calling it an early failure, so we'll see.

        This is disappointing. This must be why I have not received mine as well. I saw that notification about the withdrawal application either from my email or in their website and assumed that if you don't apply then they will send it to the ETH address you initially registered with since I thought that application was for you to correct your ETH address if you had entered the wrong one.

    In case people didn't see this email this is apparently their final decision on the tokens bounty.
    Basically they are a bunch of incompetent idiots with no idea of how to handle an increasingly bad situation and have decided to run away. If I had invested real money in this, I would be very very worried.
    I got to 2000 tokens through referrals, applied to withdraw and got the confirmation email, still haven't received any of the free coins. I guess now like a lot of people here, never will.

    Hi everyone,

    The tokens distribution for our bounty campaign has officially ended.

    Everyone received their ATS tokens if there were no more than 3 registrations from the IP they registered with. We believe that multiple registrations from the same IP is a sign of fraudulent leads and suspended all such accounts.

    We would like to apologize for the delay in sorting things out and take the time to address some of your concerns.

    Our major issue with the bounty campaign was the fraudulent registrations.

    Thousands of such registrations were entered into the system despite our best efforts to prevent this.

    Steps we took during our bounty campaign to prevent such registrations:

    -Enforced double opt-in on registrations

    -Kept track of registration IP/confirmation IP, if they don’t match suspend the account.

    -Kept track of the number of visitors each referral link accessed and disabled account where there were no visitors through the referral link but were showing an increasing number of referrals

    -suspended accounts were the ETH address used by cheaters was the same, even if accounts had different IP addresses

    -suspended account where name/email contained easily identifiable random data

    -suspended account registration once a certain number of registrations happened from the same IP address

    Despite our best efforts to filter through fake referrals, a high number of them still managed to get through and that was clear to us when the withdrawals form was completed. As a result, we’ve decided to suspend all accounts where there are more than 3 registrations from the same IP.

    All payments to qualifying accounts have been completed.

    If you did not receive any tokens, we apologize but your account was suspended and the decision is final. Please do not contact us about, such requests will remain unanswered. We checked the list 3 times to ensure we don’t miss anyone.

    If you don’t know how to check if you received the ATS tokens or not, enter your ETH wallet address in etherscan.io and it will show you the tokens, if you received them (many of you used wallets that don’t show tokens by default).

    Double and pending payments

    Because of the increased amount of payments, some payments have been processed twice by the ETH network (don’t ask us why, theoretically this is supposed not to happen, yet it happened to some payments). To cover the number of tokens needed 1M tokens have been pulled from the authors reserved fund of 20M.

    At the same time, some payments have been stuck in “processing” for hours and even days. We went on and checked the transactions log and resent all the failed payments.

    User reviews

    It has come to our attention that some users are upset about this situation and threatened with leaving bad reviews, calling us all sorts. We understand some people’s frustration and realize it’s nothing more we can do about. We did our best. We also received numerous extortion emails (from people who didn’t even participated in the bounty campaign) threatening to leave bad reviews if we don’t pay specific amounts of tokens. Needless to say, we ignored them all. Bad reviews are a natural thing and everyone is free to spend their time the way they feel appropriate.

    Project develoment

    Our project development continues regardless and a $4M marketing budget plus thousands of authors already waiting to join the upcoming platform are more than enough to ensure a successful launch and a bright future. This is where a project values stands in: the final product. We value the opinion of the 1% bounty participants, but at the end of the day pumping or dumping the ATS tokens (which we cannot control) has no impact on the successful development of the Authorship platform.

    Exchange listing

    We’d also like to announce our investors that this entire bounty situation has been discussed with several exchanges, and been told this is a general thing that happens with all ICOs bounties: you can never please everyone and cheaters are a nightmare to deal with messing things up. We are happy to have pleased 8158 token holders. Once things settle and everyone realizes that the distribution is over we’ll be submitting our listing requests as requested by several of you.

    80% of the token holders are mostly authors and publishing industry members who look forward to our next year official launch. We would like to thank them all for their vote of confidence as they are an important part of the upcoming platform.
