go to the co-operative bank website homepage co-operativebank.co.nz the promo code box is on the left hand side - enter it in there :) (this is what co-op told me, upon looking at it, if you are on mobile, scroll down (it isn't on the left) until you see "Promo code"

  • Has anyone tried this and worked out where to enter the code? I have almost completed the signing up process, but there hasn't been a place to enter a code anywhere throughout the process.

    • Looking at the app, there is a "Promo code" section on the far left. I tried putting the other referral code in but kept getting an auth error (I've had my account for a long time though). I'd say this would require you to have an account already. Wouldn't hurt to download the app and have a look to see if the "promo code" button is there without signing in/ without creating an account. I couldn't find anything online regarding how to do it.

    • I have updated it with the reply co-op gave me. "go to the co-operative bank website homepage co-operativebank.co.nz the promo code box is on the left hand side - enter it in there :)" similar instructions for the app. If you are on mobile and not the app, scroll down

      • I got my $20 - hopefully you got yours too!

        • Got 3 lots of $20 two days ago, after the wait I thought no one must have used my code, thanks dude.

  • hard to navigate their site. what are their account fees? any free one?

    • No free accounts unless you are a student. My wife is banking with them using their tertiary pack, but I couldn't justify paying $5 to $10/m for the privilege of storing my money. If you have enough in the accounts with them then the yearly dividend they pay will most likely cover the cost of any fees though.

      • what about the "online account" https://gyazo.com/6023f09b9a280f414f2d05239211dd09 - high interest (1%… 'high'), no fees

        • Transaction fees Zero – but to take money out or make transfers you’ll need an everyday account with us*

Could possibly sign up to that to get the $20 credit, but I'm not sure.

  • Could somebody PM me a referal code? Going to try the online account.

    • You can choose one of the options in the grey box above bro.

    • Do you know if it worked?

  • message me a code please :)

    • Please use the referral tool above (The grey box under the description).

  • Is this only for new customers? I don't know how to generate a code. I am a current member of the bank but both codes say only for new customers

    • As an existing member, you have the ability to refer people with your code (which they enter during sign up). This allows both you and them to get $20 each. The referee must be a new customer, while the referrer (what you are) must be an existing member.

I hope this clears it up, if not just say :)

  • So do you know how do I create a code?? To give to someone??

    • if you are using the app, go to the left, click the misc button (three horizontal lines) and click promo code. Mine is showing blank now, but that may be because I have already referred the max number of people, or they may no longer be giving people codes

  • I guess they are no longer giving codes. I've never seen one on mine.

    • That sucks, I think they must do this yearly or something, so you'll be able to grab it next time round (I signed up last year using this deal)
