Free 10x Philips LED Bulbs (~ $100) and Ismart Hot Water Controller (~ $1300) - Papakura/Takanini Only

60

Vector, Entrust and Auckland Council are running an initiative in Papakura and Takanini (Auckland) to provide a home energy efficiency check, including provision and fitting of 10 LED light bulbs and an iSmart hot water control unit (http://www.ismartcontroller.co.nz/)

I had this done on Friday - it was a useful exercise with a few areas identified to help with power saving. They replaced all my non-LED bulbs with LEDs and left the remainder as spares. The hot water controller installation is being arranged by a sparky at their cost. An amazing initiative.

The included areas and registration can be found at the link.

  • The hot water controller is valued more than a new hot water cylinder? Great initiative, although it must be another reason why Auckland rates keep going up so much.

  • That's pricey for LEDs these days.

    • I believe it's free.

      • He's referring to the title which says 10x LED bulbs are worth $100.

        • Philips bulbs - you pay for the brand (and perceived quality). They sell in store for $10-25. Had they provided generic branded bulbs it would have been a lower worth.

Would I pay $100 for 10 bulbs? - hell no. Is that what Philips bulbs cost - yes.
