You can get almost free (plus shipping) New Zealand native plant saplings / seedlings from NZ Native Plant Centre.
I've tried to list everything they currently have in stock, as well as link to more reading on NativePlants.nz for the ones that pages exist for.
I purchased a few months ago and they were the same price. They were great to deal with. Courier was fast and well priced for the size of the box needed, even for the 40 small $1.50 plants I ordered. I don't know of anywhere else that is this cheap for such good plants.
Any indication of shipping price around the country?

Total cost for 18 plants is $50 includes $17 shipping cost.
We normally arrange plants on Sunday or Monday evening to prevent them from drying out in the courier depot over the weekend.

I can vouch for this, great to deal with, quick courier and very healthy seedlings. They are very small, but are growing up very nicely if you take care of them :)

Star Jasmine is beautiful for a climbing vine. It's…not fast growing tho.
