  • According to their email, the codes are valid until tomorrow at 11:59pm

    • Yea, well spotted, have updated the OP.

      • Oh yeah, good spotting.
I saw "Daily Deal" in the email, and assumed it was today only.

        • It does have "ONE DAY ONLY" on it, maybe they got their dates wrong.

        • @Shaw:

          Yeah, a bit contradictory.

I'd so be in on the XB271HU monitor, but my wife would have my head on a stake. I already have a 1440p IPS 27" Dell 60hz monitor, and as much as I'd love a G-Sync monitor to go with my GTX 1070, I'm gonna have to hold back.

        • Droooooling…. I have a 1060 and freesync monitor :'(. was planning on a rx480 but the 1060 was too cheap. luckying it can do all the latest games at 60fps.

        • @wearnes:

In BF1, I get 100fps average with everything on Max except supersampling @ 1440p as opposed to 4K. I tested G-Sync monitors at the computer lounge shop in mt wellington, and it makes such a difference to frame sensitive games like FPS. So I would get a benefit in getting a monitor, but also a slap from the wife!

        • @techhit:

I've been playing a bit of Watch Dogs 2 (From the SSD promo) on ultra and get around 60 - 70 max on my 1080. Would be good if some of these manufacturers would release lower end G-Sync monitors though. Can get 4K monitors for under $400, but struggle to find anything with G-Sync below $1000.

        • @Shaw:

Yeah, that's the premium you have to pay for G-Sync over Freesync.

If you compare the MG279Q (Freesync) to the PG279Q (G-Sync), the price difference is over $400.

Nvidia must charge the OEMs a lot for the G-sync module.

        • @Shaw:

What res do you play at? 60-70 sounds a bit low.
Admittedly, I haven't seen any benchmarks for that game, so I'm not sure whether that's typical and the game is really GPU intensive or not.

        • @techhit:

Just Full HD. Although not helped by the fact I usually have sport streaming full screen on my 2nd monitor. I also turned vsync on, as it's only a 60hz monitor, but it wasn't going much higher than 70 anyway.

        • must be that new fangled Anti Aliasing. i dont think my eyes could see the difference

  • and by the way…

Asus PG279Q uses the identical panel to the Acer XB271HU.
Don't waste $400 more on the Asus.

  • Does the offer include all range of products with the specific brand? Tried ordering the acer predator laptop 17 in and didn't give any price reductions after entering the coupon code. It worked on the monitor specified the OP though.

    • +1

I've added in T&C to the post

      • Aha! That's why. cheers!
