Specsavers Half Price Eye Exam $30 (Usually $60)

70

Specsavers is having a deal for $30 eye tests. They're usually $60 so print off the voucher from this link and call up to make a booking :)
Expires on the 30th of Sept. Saw this on a facebook advert linked to Specsavers, can be used in any stores as it does not specify on the coupon i think.

My first (second) post so I hope I'm doing this right. Accidentally posted on the general discussions forum instead.

You accidentally selected the associated box or you are actually associated?

Welcome onboard by the way, don't worry about posting it in the wrong place, I fixed it up.

    • Cool thanks! yea i just started working there, and when i went to like the company i saw it on their site heh , doesnt benefit me in any way though just to the customers

      • Sweet, no worries, thanks for the transparency :)

Also if you are an AA member you get them free every two years. Is a good little bonus for me when I need new glasses.

    • +1

Yea, I was looking at that, whether it'd be better to just sign up to AA membership for a year to get it.

      • +1

Well it would cost you more, because a new membership would be more than $60 but you would have the added benefit of breakdown assistance etc.my membership cost $59 as I've been with them for a while (and actually used them the other day when I left my lights on the car in the supermarket woops).

Cheers OP, need to get my eyes checked again soon. If you go to My Account > Store Assciations (or click here you can make it say 'Employee' next to your name rather than 'Asscociated'.

Thanks have done so now :)

Curious, what do you get after the exam? Do you get the results to take away if you want to purchase glasses/contacts from elsewhere?

My left eye is pretty bad, need to find out exactly how bad, but I keep putting it off.

They encourage you to buy glasses from them but from I've read they legally need to give you the results 1. I got my first few pairs of glasses straight from Specsavers but recently I've been getting them from Zenni Optical. Shippings a bit steep ($9.95 US) but they are still often cheaper (especially with coupons you can find online ;).

Haven't had an exam for a while so I should probably get one soon

How do I obtain my prescription?
If you don't have a copy of your prescription (it should be less than 2 years old) request a copy from your Eye Care Professional. They are legally required to supply a copy to you - after all, you paid them money to test you didn't you!?

      • Sweet, thanks for that mate.

      • +1

Yeap 100% they have to give you your prescription. They may not give you the PD (pupillary distance) and from what I understand they technically don't have to either. If you plan on buying online, try ensure that your prescription has this value on it.

      • Yea, you can ask before taking the exam to get a drivers cert as well which isnt usually included unless you ask for it to be which lasts for 90 days after your eye exam. And you can ask for the prescription sheet to be signed off so you can buy glasses elsewhere.

        • Does the drivers cert contain extra information, or just a particular form with the information on it?

Sweet. I'd shop around and see what offers the best value, would prefer contacts to glasses, would lose them too easy.

        • @Shaw:
Refrigerator129 should be able to confrim but i think contact fitting is extra ontop of the eye test

        • @rkl:

Oh really? Will wait for confirmation.

        • @Shaw: Im not sure about the contact fitting, says on the voucher that it doesnt include it but all specsavers shops are differently run and some still offer the contact fitting as its part of the eye test, but will need to call and confirm with the specsavers you want to go to. the drivers cert is more for the people who want to go take their drivers license test, its just a form with the optoms signature on it. Hope that helps

        • @Refrigerator129:

          Alright cheers.

Tried ringing the local branch, but it seems to be their fax number that's being displayed as the phone number, so now I need a hearing check too!

Send them a message online, will see what they come back with.

      • Did the half price prescription with Specsavers and ordered of Zenni years ago and saved heaps.
I did have to go back and get the PD measurement though.

        • Some good coupons for Zenni on RetailMeNot, will post them tommorow.
