  • Wow such a great deal!

Anyone thinking of taking this offer up, please be aware that any existing credit (If you are already with Skinny) will not be carried over, and will be lost. Just FYI.

  • With this i feel like Spark is cementing that any non carrier owned MVNOs will not be feasible in NZ. I was hoping we'd see more of what aussie has, where MVNOs help provide additional competition. But there's no way someone reselling a service could compete with these rates in the NZ market, unless the comcom forced wholesale rates right down.

    Great value though.

    • Keep in mind though that the Aussie market has taken a few big swings down and back up, as far as offerings go. It seems to be back down now though, so there are so great deals available over there again. Hopefully this does force the others to either drop their prices or add more data though. Just reading about the 2/3 (hopefully) new international cables being run from NZ this decade, so dragging wholesale costs down should also help push data limits up.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised to see the idea of text/sms messages being phased out over the next few years though, they seem to be used less and less, and the extra capacity without them should also help. Just speculation though, I might be way off.

  • Does this allow carryover data?

    • Don't think so, no.

  • No Australian calls for big business :(

    • $9 for 120 minutes

Not saying it's good, just pointing out that they have a Australian minute bundle.
