  • Absolute steal at that price. Great phone.

    • Yep, brought one myself.

  • Note the prices and the stock count are fluctuating a lot.

  • Updated the price. If you set it to NZD using the top bar, it will be charged in NZD on PayPal. Don't have any decent foreign rate cards here, so no chance of mid rate.

    • Warehouse Mastercard used to have the best rates in NZ. Only 1% conversion rate, and hardly noticeable. The next best international rate is the warehouse money cards, at 2% conversion rate.

      • Yea, although 2-3% is pretty standard isn't it? That's what Amex charge me for mine. Would love a card with 0%, such as the few they have in Aussie.

        • The 28 degrees credit card ae? That's 0% conversion fee which is great. But despite saying it's 0%, I do wonder what their exchange rate is. When I had the warehouse Mastercard, I go based on xe.com exchange rate. And to my surprise, I always get better rates than what that website indicates to me - meaning the 1% conversion fee doesn't even put a dent into the exchange rate.

        • @bigbosssnake:

Yea, the 28 Degrees card isn't as great as it once was, but there are a few other options available too IIRC.

I've noticed that the rates are sometimes better than the mid rate (xe.com etc.) which I think may be caused by delayed rate updating, for whatever reason. So it could possibly go a bit either way, win or lose. I find the airpoints/cashback extra ~1% make up a bit of the conversion costs, but not all of it.

  • Wow that's nice for snapdragon 820/with 3gb ram. How much do these usually go for?

    • Official Xiaomi price is 1800 CNY or US$270/NZ$370. So either they're selling this as a loss or they got a sweet wholesale deal, perhaps in advance of another official price cut. The coupon code only works on the gold 32GB which is leading me to think it's the latter.

  • Does it work on all nz networks alright?

  • The code you entered has expired.
Too bad, such a great price.

    • +1 expired

    • Can you please try the codes FCMI5 and FCMI6? I can't test it myself as I've already purchased one.

      • Negative on both.

        • :-(

        • @Avantime:

I'll have to ask their rep what was up with that code. I suspect it was applied to the product at the wrong base price, hence the low sale price due to a high discount.

        • @Shaw: Yeah I'm starting to think that the deal's too good to be true lol. Oh well we'll see how it goes.

        • @Avantime:

Has the order status changed at all?

        • @Shaw: Still 'processing'. I don't expect them to ship (or cancel the order) until a couple of days later.

        • @Avantime:

Been told they are being refunded, they had over 8,000 orders at that price.
