Free Burger on Your Birthday @ Burger Fuel

150

Get a free burger on your birthday (no other purchase is required) - edit: finding it difficult to create an email for you all - I advise you to sign up as a burger VIB on their website

I just tried it in a store in Wellington and got my "Bastard" burger free (RP $14.20)

To receive the email referred to in the conditions, you may need to sign up as a [VIB.](https://www.burgerfuel.com/nz/my-bf/become-a-vib#)

Update 2024:

One of the many perks of being a VIB Club member means you get a FREE burger on your birthday. No strings (apart from a few T&Cs below) and valid ONLY on the day of your b’day. So if Mum organised some family get together after work… grin and bear it, save some room, and gap it out of there to your nearest BurgerFuel ASAP. You've only got a day to get amongst it - no time to waste.

To be eligible to redeem, you must be a VIB Club Member (sign up HERE) and must have entered the correct D.O.B in the registration form when signing up (sorry, but you can't sign up on the day of your birthday and have your free burger issued - you'll have to wait till next year).

Simply, check your Club Goods dashboard and marvel at your Free VIB Birthday Burger. Then head in-store and scan your Member ID in your app to redeem (or let our crew member know your phone number), or order online at eat.burgerfuel.com and select 'USE MY CLUB GOODS' to apply your VIB Birthday Burger to your cart. Too easy.

P.S if you think you popped the wrong D.O.B in the registration form when you signed up, email us at [email protected] with a form of ID (i.e passport or drivers licence) and our team will update it for you, no sweat.

Excludes specials and customistations. Lowest value burger will be discounted in multiple burger order. Single use only. Not available with any other Club Goods, Burger Bucks or other BurgerFuel offer. Expires close of business from day of receiving. Form of ID may be required for in store redemption.

BurgerFuel have the right to discontinue or change this offer at any time.

BurgerFuel stores have the right to refuse this offer if member has obtained fraudulently.

Nice find, have added this to our List of birthday deals wiki page.

This isn't a new offer, been mentioned before. Actually PM'd kiwiunjlist asking him the details so I could add it to the birthday page and advised him to post it. Never got round to adding it in the end though ):

    • No worries though, it was never posted or added to the page. Both been done now.

    • i knew i had seen this deal somewhere before!

  • Damn, my birthday was just over a week ago. Have to wait for another 50 weeks :'(

  • Any one have a copy of the email? I just signed up to VIB but think it's too late for it (my birthday's today). Cheers

  • Hi. I would like a copy too. I'm in the same boat as td.

  • Going to expire this. Signed up to the VIB with a fake birth date to check if it works, but never received anything, possible targeted? Possibly removed it after it was shared here?

  • Seems the email is generated by signing up before your actual birthday. Since you have to provide evidence of your birthday, can't really be gamed (unless using fake ID, not recommended)

As mentioned previously, check out the Birthday Freebies CC Wiki. Spoilt for choice there. Be one well fed birthday, if you try out more than one of the deals!

    • I signed up the day this was posted, with a birth date a few days ago, still got nothing. Not sure what the deal is.

Correct though, heaps of good deals there!

Burgerfuel Marketing manager says, the email is generated automatically, and sent a day or so before your birthday. So won't necessarily get an email until then. If signing up on your birthday, the system may not process it fast enough and default to the next birthday.

If any issues with this, as in not receiving an email before the birthday, send a request email through to [email protected]. They seem friendly enough, so if you are genuine, sounds like they should try to help.

Cheers Jay, have updated the OP to include that.

        • @Shaw: Yep, the offer is still live and valid.

Haven’t received email from Burger Fuel re my birthday free burger this year. Not sure if this deal is still ongoing.

  • Yeah same bro I think it has stopped

  • Yeah, same here, didn’t receive an email (birthday was in November). The one time I was actually looking forward to it! Can’t remember if I got one the previous year either. Been a VIB for a few years.

    • I didn't received mine and assumed it was because Auckland (where I'm located) was in lockdown.

    • I messaged them and asked why it hadn't come through (mine was in Oct and I pinged them in Nov) and they had purposely removed Aucklanders due to lockdown. I thought that was very weird indeed as I had thought sending through a code to be used when pickup or delivery was available would have been amazing for those in lockdown…rather than just removing it. Sad indeed. But they came through and sent me through a code to use for a free burger. Doesn't help everyone else who missed out, but maybe its their way of reducing the pain for the brand from loss of income etc…dunno….should have been communicated though.

      • Thanks for the info. Agree, could’ve at least let us know! I thought it was a nationwide thing (trying to cut costs). Bit disappointing to hear that those specifically in Auckland missed out.

        • So like… did any non-Aucklanders receive their VIB birthday email? Yeah I also assumed it was a cost cutting process, or maybe "punishment" lol for us Cheapies leaking out several codes

  • Well it's still on there website

    • There's no support where I can email

      • I just replied to their VIB monthly (or however frequent it is) email - [email protected]

        • Update everyone. They are sending it 1 day before the birthday now. I just talked to support guys

  • Just received the email from Burgerfuel and here's the T&Cs:

    Terms & Conditions:
Must show ID along with full corresponding email and voucher when ordering.
Valid only on the day of your birthday (no exceptions) for the intended recipient.
Offer available at any BurgerFuel in New Zealand.
Not available with any other offer.
    Not valid with online ordering.
One voucher per person, per visit.

  • Has anyone recently received a voucher? Mine didn't come through.

    • I got mine late last year thru the app, no issues.

      • Came here to check for updates, good to see it has been. Did think with their new account and ordering system where they can personalise deals they'd move to tying it to accounts.

I sorta lol that they need you to provide ID via email to update your DoB though. Seems an unnecessary complicated solution to the problem. I mean they could easily have implemented basic recording and if you've updated it more than once ask what's up or only then ask for ID.

But frankly, would be simpler IMO for them to not worry too much about updates and just rely on a DoB check instore like they used to when picking up. It's not like they asked for ID when you signed up or the account is tied to anything other than a phone number so it just seem all around weird to me.

And seems to be imposing unnecessary risks on themselves, are they making sure these IDs are being properly deleted? And I mean properly, many corporate systems have traditionally been designed to keep permanent backups. And especially for emails the assumption may be it's fine or even preferred to keep the entire email forever. So they'd need to make sure this it's actually permanently deleted in reasonable time frame rather than just not visible. (Although general privacy act requirements in NZ might mean companies are often on top of this, I dunno.)

Because if not, they'll have even more of a headache under the privacy act if their email systems are ever compromised. (Although I wonder how many people actually do it instead of either going WTF and giving up or just asking them to delete the account or change the phone number and signing up for a new account with their old phone number.)

I got my voucher through the app just 3 weeks ago for my birthday.
It’s actually much easier now with no more showing a email and ID to get your freebie like in the past. You can order your burger through the app, apply the coupon and just pick it up.
I didn’t get asked anything when I went in - literally straight up to the counter and collected the burger.
