Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming $727.42 Delivered @ Techworld

60

This is by far the cheapest price you'll find anywhere in the world that delivers to NZ.

You can check nowinstock.net. B&H, Amazon and Newegg ship to New Zealand, but they add on GST and customs clearance charges. Which means you end up paying over $800 shipped.

This model is one of the most overclockable models (up to 2400mhz on the memory) which equates to additional 6-12fps over the factory "oc mode" (in general about 10% more fps @ each resolution). You can check youtube videos for reviews and benchmarks.

$861.99 @ http://www.2moroit.co.nz/product-gigabyte_geforce_gv_n1070g1…

These are MUCH faster and better than any founders edition card. Better cooling, factory overclocked.

I've ordered from Scott before who runs Techworld, and he offers top notch service. You can check his flawless feedback on Pricespy (9.58/10) http://pricespy.co.nz/shop.php?f=11597. He's a good guy, and deserves a bit more support.

  • Nice, been watching the 1070's (Not buying a new card for a while), hopefully they keep dropping and dropping.

    • Me too. I sold my GTX 970 two months ago when Pascal was announced. Have been waiting for a good deal on a GTX 1070 ever since.

      • I got a refurb R9 290 Tri-X for $350 about 18 months ago, so will probably get another 12 months out of it yet. It keeps me warm too, as an added bonus.

        • LOL, and so do the RX 480's. They draw more power from the PCI-e slot allowed from the specification, and it's literally causing PCI-e slots to burn out and die.

        • @techhit:
Mostly on old MB's but has been fixed with new drivers

        • @Huntakillaz:

The new drivers fix the power draw, but that surely comes at a cost of performance.

        • @techhit:
yeah it did but with vulcan and other improvements in drivers it became a no performance loss

  • Very good price, quite tempted. I got a GTX 980 and I'm thinking of either going 980>1070>1080Ti, or just go 980>1080>1180. Unfortunately the 1080s are nearly double the price of this particular 1070.

    • You can't go wrong with a GTX 1070, which is faster than the Titan X and 980Ti. Remember that the 980Ti and Titan X were selling for $1000-$1400. You're getting a card that packs so much performance per dollar per watt. And for the price of 2 x 1070s (from techworld), it's the same price as a GTX 1080 (from other retailers) and run them in SLI. Should be able to break 60fps @ 4k in most games.

  • I'd be wary of this - I believe TechWorld are drop shippers - that'll make warranty support difficult, and I suspect if Customs cotton on, you'll be left in the lurch to pay the fees and release the package. YMMV.

    • Interesting, as the price includes GST.

    • He's a NZ based seller, so the consumer guarantee act applies. There's no risk. I've personally bought a GTX 970 from him 2 years ago, and have had no issues. I'm sure if there were issues about warranty and customs fees, you'd be hearing about it on the pricespy forums or similar.

  • Has anybody bought this card from Techworld? What's the ETA?

  • I have. He's transparent about which supplier you want it from and the waiting times. If you want to get it from the NZ supplier, then that'll cost more ~$860, and you'll get it faster. However, if you're willing to wait, then he gets it from a USA supplier. Just flick him a message - you'll get a pretty fast response.
