Yeah, I've noticed that in previous months, they extend the expiry of their coupons a couple of days before the ones are released.
Popular! Only that particular coupon has been extended, all others are expiring tomorrow, not that I am complaining.
@ClipIt: WTF. I still have a photo of the coupon on my smartphone, expires end of August, is it still valid I wonder? They must have removed the coupon because it is hurting the sales of the Double Down! Haha…
@footy7: Could well still accept it, I think it was a mailer coupon as well so they should. The coupon they replaced with it is also quite good:

They were $7.90 in 2011 and even then they seemed expensive. Wouldn't go near them at this price : P
Hoping for some good coupon deals on double downs tomorrow, might make them slightly cheaper.
I distinctively remember they were only $7.90 back then. After the promotion was over, analyst at KFC HQ realised people are not purchasing higher margin food items like drinks or fries along with their Double Downs, so their earnings during that period actually went down abit. And that is why they keep hiking the price everytime they bring them back!
Something isn't a bargain just because it has limited availability.
The appeal of CC to me is that I can save money on things I already buy, or that I can afford something that I ordinarily could not because of a steep discount.
Perhaps the value of a deal is in the eye of the beholder, but this doesn't really do much for me.

This doesn't come across the wrong way at all. I understand that it isn't really a bargain, though it has got six votes so some people have probably found it useful. I thought at the time that I posted this (I'm probably wrong) that this was a special price.
I'd say the appeal of the post wasn't so much the product or the price. It was the stealth early release of the product. (No doubt as a market research tool to evaluate the drawdown marketing value of certain streams of social media.)
KFC stores carried no indication or promotion of the product being available, though staff had clearly been pre-warned as they showed no sign of uncertainty when asked. The information of its availability was only circulated by limited channels.
As such, the heads up post here provided an early warning service to members of CC about a limited availability sale. In that context, I think it was an entirely appropriate post for here, even though, technically yes, it wasn't a special price 'deal'.
(NOTE: This isn't a swipe at Deal Leader. Just tendering up a different opinion!)
Eh. My comment is sitting at 6 up right now too.
The DD isn't discounted and isn't exceptional value at this price, so all this post really is is jumping on board the hype-train.
Compare that to your Dominos post which is a substantial saving and a very good value meal!
