No worries. Interesting product, would be quite good in place of an airbed, but I don't imagine they go back the way they are packed.

  • Looks like it was $40, but that appears to be a sale price also, so no idea what the RRP is for it.

    • Seems cheap for a Queen sized spring mattress, eh. Not in the market for one, but be a nice spare for unexpected guests etc.

      • Yea, maybe they accidentally purchased a few extra containers of them. Might go to the local store tomorrow and see if they have any.

        24 available online.

  • Nice find!

    Price history:

    https://files.cheapies.nz/upload/4/828/bed.png

Looks like RRP is $120, which was where it started, as there was no one stocking it before that.

  • I've felt this mattress in the store, it didn't feel very comfortable as you could feel the springs inside it. It was for our spare room. We bought a latex inner spring from TSB for ~$350 instead. http://www.tsbliving.co.nz/products/queen-mattress-latex-fir… obviously a lot more expensive.

You can't argue with $25 though.

      Money > Guests.

      • haha, you could buy a latex topper would probably fix the spring issue.

        • Yea, or some memory foam, quite a cheap guest bed when paired with some second hand timber made into a base, or two stacked on top of each other.

        • @Shaw: chuck it on some wood pallets.

        • @kiwijunglist:

Yea, why not? Sand them down and a rough coat of varnish and it'd be like being on a roller coaster, guests would flock to visit us!

    • Disregard above they also sell a dream mattress with springs for 350rrp 175 on sale. That is the mattress that has prominent springs, this mattress i think is a rubber/sponge one.

These are oversize though, so shipping cost was $80 for 2, tried it earlier.

      • Just found that else myself, for one the price is: $39.99, would only get this in-store.

        • Yea, for two it was about $130 delivered, much easier to grab them on store. IIRC, they may even click and collect for free if purchasing in store and they have none in stock.

  • yeah they are really cheap, they were $120 in store. they are firm and not that compfy but as a spare bed or even a new bed better than grose 2nd hand beds people try sell for more just thought id post it because there are people out there where a new mattress is a luxury. id suggest calling around a few stores or even seeing if they can do a rain check so you can get one =] i purchased a mattress packed the same way it comes in a box rolled tightly and you lay it on your bed and pop a hole in the plastic and it pops up quite funny ha

    • where a new mattress is a luxury

Tell me about it, wife and I purchased our first new bed last year, and while she complains that it's a bit too hard, it's such a better sleep than the 20 - 30 year old hand me down we did have. I can't imagine this + a topper being any worse than that in any way.

i purchased a mattress packed the same way it comes in a box rolled tightly and you lay it on your bed and pop a hole in the plastic and it pops up quite funny ha

Hopefully it doesn't get a split in it while in storage… It'd be a bit awkward getting it out of the wardrobe if it wasn't packed!

Yeah these days you can buy a rolled mattress from the internet, and get it delivered to you via normal courier. IMO these cheap mattresses work really well with a memory foam topper.

      • for sure =] my brother has the same one he didnt get it this cheap though hes got a foam topper and doesn't complain =]

  • Right, time to find a pea and order 20. Which one of you is going to be my princess?

    • Sorry, did you say something?

      • Can't recreate "Princess and the Pea" without a princess, are you volunteering? ;)

        • Only if you shave your legs first! Elsewhere also for bonus points

          @Jay:

Need to find a hotel deal for you two.

Grabbed one today, had heaps in a back corner of the store. Quite heavy things, so be prepared to have to haul it in a trolley or over your shoulder. Make sure to check for rips in the packaging too, as a few had damage to the mattress inside.

  • The RRP is $50. Tory street, Wellington got 2 left. I just checked it. It comes as rolled packet which will need to left idle for 2 days. Good product and great price

  • How much is delivery?

    • Heaps. Add one to cart to check.

      • $40. I pass then.
