  • I think you put the link in wrong, it should be http://www.aa.co.nz/aasmartfuel/redeem-fuel-discounts/bp/ .

    • thanks :)

      • Maybe prices are going down again.

NZ dollar has gone up, plus oil has come down. So they should be.

  • Every Friday since the 8th either BP or Caltex has had 10c off per litre.

  • They are doing it every week instead of putting the price down….

  • So should i goto Mobil or BP or Caltex on Friday? (96/98 octane)

    • Bp or Caltex

      • Definately BP or Caltex, and before 12 noon Friday because that is when Gull's discount will end and no doubt BP and Caltex will raise their prices after that. My local BP is only 8cents cheaper today (trying hard to price match Gull Ti Rakau), but I will use my Smartfuel card on Friday to grab an extra 10cpl discount on top of that! Just hope that my local BP will stay at $1.579 (91 octane) on Friday morning.

        • Curious about the difference in fuel prices. Sth Island, last time I checked a few days ago, our 91 was running at $1.88/ltr, without discount. 30c is a big difference between Nth & Sth.

@Jay: Have a look at Price Watch I discovered it well trying to find price comparison sites for the wiki page. It does differences in prices between petrol stations and different areas in NZ.

        • @Jay: cheapest for Canterbury is 1.949, cheapest for Auckland is 1.639. Big differences. This is for 95/96

        • @ClipIt: As I read it, only lists prices for fuel outlets using Cardlink. Not sure that every station does. So may well be cheaper stations. Unless fuel has jumped dramatically in last couple of days, was 1.88 for 91 in Christchurch.

There are also a couple of fuel wholesalers here (Hornby)who are usually up to 9c cheaper than commercial stations.

        • @Jay: For 91 in cantbury the cheapest is $1.819 and in auckland is $1.559. Cardlink supports pretty much all major petrol stations but only knows the prices of ones where someone has swiped a cardlink card today. The last comment was for 95/96 not for 91.

@Jay: I saw some parts of Auckland that are $1.87/ltr, like in and around the airport . All depends if there is a cluster of fuel companies in one area and there is Gull. If only Z Energy is in your area, then yes, you will be shafted…

    • Go to the BP or Caltex which is closest to a Gull or Mobil. The BP or Caltex will put there prices down to match Gull or Mobil. Mobil or Gull will not change their prices because the aa smartfuel discount isn't the displayed price. Might also be worth looking at PriceWatch to compare them all.

  • Just got fueled at MOBIL TI RAKAU DRIVE. 91@ 1.559 and 95@ 1.649

Total was ~$84 (~53L) with extra 10c/L off so final cost was ~$79

You need to spend more than $40 but no AA card required
