Garage shelving recommendations

Hey all, am wanting to get the garage a bit more organised. I'm not much of a diy guy but have been looking at shelves like this:

https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/jobmate-5-shelf-unit-h-1824mm…

Seem pretty easy to put together and not an outrageous price, with pretty good reviews.

Interested in recommendations - what do others use? Should I be looking somewhere else for cheaper similar shelving? I probably want to buy 3 or so, depending on exact sizes.

  • Take a look at the Pinnacle range from Bunnings as well - i have multiple bays in my garage, sturdy and easy to assemble.

  • I have 2 of this Pinnacle range. Heavy duty and sturdy. Been using it since 5 years. I added ply to the middle shelfs for smaller items. top & bottom have bigger things stored.

  • The Pinnacle range is great - checkout marketplace. That is where I got mine, for a fraction of the cost of new.

  • The Rack It range at Bunnings is excellent/

  • Pretty sure we have that exact model from M10 that you link in your OP (if not, then very similar) and have had them for about six years with no issues.

They are very strong and good value.

We have lined some of the shelves with cardboard to stop smaller items falling through, and cardboard takes up next to no room.

  • i've heard people have had trouble with the pinnacle range with mould on the wood underside. My first choice was the mitre ten one instead but we ended up getting kmart ones because they fit the space better and there was free delivery. They are plastic but hardy. our space isn't sunny but i imagine if they were in full sun it wouldn't be great

  • We have the larger Jobmate shelves. Easily to put together and rock solid. Happy with them

I have purchased 2 shelves from them now and the quality is significantly better than any from mitre 10/Bunnings

    I paid $145 for 1.5 m long.

  • IKEA is pretty good

They have other options as well. Some cheaper. This one is easy to build

  • If you're in Auckland and have a Costco membership they have a couple of options, good pricing and better quality than the ones ive seen at mitre ten etc

  • Pegboard from Ikea

  • I picked up a couple of these during one of Trade Tested's 10% off sales: https://www.tradetested.co.nz/products/steel-shelves-4-tier-…

They are heavy duty shelves so might be overkill for you depending on what you want to do but they've been great for me. Easy to assemble and very sturdy.
