Need a Cheap Beijing eSIM (24-Hour Transit

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of a cheap eSIM deal for Beijing, China for just 1 day?

I'll be transiting through Beijing on a 24-hour transit visa and will be exploring the city solo, so I just need enough data to stay connected for maps and messaging.

Looking for the cheapest reliable option. Thanks!

  • I usually just grab one off of Trip.com - just search for China eSIM then sort by most popular.

The CMHK ones have done be very well during numerous trips over the past 12 months. Should be just over a dollar for a 24-hour 2 GB SIM. I haven't needed any more than that in 24 hours, even with navigation and social media.

Just make sure to install it before you get there, so you don't need to bother with connecting to airport WiFi and potentially not being able to connect.

I used 4 of these (4 transits through China) last month: https://nz.trip.com/things-to-do/detail/57042119

  • There's quite a few free trials from different providers which should do the job. Apply promo codes and change currency to NZD.

Another free option is Firsty which gives you up to 200mb per day from viewing ads in the app.

  • I just used global travel esim from ShopBack, free 1GB for 7days

  • I like kiwisim - theyve advertised cheapies exclusive deals in the past, and very reliable from my trips - even buy their esims for my parents.
