Hi all,
My car is due for WOF this month and it certainly needs new tyres.
Hoping to find a decent deal in Hamilton.
One FB marketplace option for cheap triangle brand is $480 for 4 tyres fitted and balanced.
Few famous shops like Tony’s tyres etc are minimum $800-$2000 based on quality.
It’s a 2009 Toyota so not really keen on spending too much.
Any recommendations are welcome.

Personally, I'd steer clear of Triangles (most of the cheaper Chinese tyres to be fair). They generally have below-average wet weather performance.
Have you considered a reputable second-hand tyre? Or fitting a pair of quality second-hand tyres to the rear and a pair of new tyres to the front if you're trying to keep costs down.
If you're buying new, the Yokohama Bluearth ES32 is one of the best value tyres on the market. Otherwise, Bridgestone Supercat Sports are also good value with decent performance. Worth checking what deals bridgestone have at present, sometimes it's buy 1 get 30down or buy 4 get 1 free.

Hey, Thanks for your reply, my experience with second hand tyres have been quite bad.
I was advised even with a good tread since the rubber is old it's not the best option hence trying to avoid it.

100% agree - you can decode the tire manufacture year. all tires should have a stamped batch / year of manufacturing.
i bought a car that had been sitting for ages, tires had good tread but had scalloped and drove poorly, turns out they were old as heck.- 1
I second the Yokohama bluearth es32, have put them on two cars now. Probaly best value decent tyres I have found. Especially when hyperdrive have buy 1 get 1 free but also they have other discounts every now and then.

I don't think you'll get much/any cheaper than $480 fitted and balanced for four new tyres. Looking on TM at used tyres you'd struggle to beat that.

I picked up two Pirelli tyres for $350 including fitting last year. I used to pay over $800 at Tony's for 2 tyres, never again! The best part is you can choose which workshop they send the tyres to for fitting.

Just got two new tyres from Budget Tyres on Greenwood St yesterday. Their pricing was decent.
Otherwise, could try online sites like Tyre Shop Online, Hyper Drive etc.
Tony also price-matches.

Final update.
Got a good deal eventually from Hyperdrive, Yokohama buy 1 get 1 free.
Paid $622 for 4X blue earth ES32 fitted & balanced.
Now waiting for tyres to reach Hamilton.
