There was some on the shelf the other day at Lyall Bay. It's not an outrageouly cheap price now that olive oil has come down in price - about $16/ltr on special at the supermarket.

Italian packed but unknown origin. Taste is terrible for an extra virgin oil. I would not recommend.

@Wakrak: i agree, taste is terrible for eating. Ok for cooking, but it's extra virgin, so careful with temperature as not to burn it

(Interested Cheapies should go back into the history search where you'll find a previous posting a few months back of this TWH The Market brand type. And how the PNS Spanish Extra Virgin olive oil 500ml and 1 litre product (pricing abit too) maybe significantly better…).

By definition, any oil legally classified and labeled as "Extra Virgin" must be extracted purely through mechanical means without the use of chemical solvents or high heat. This extraction process is naturally a cold-pressed or cold-extracted method.
pams Pams Extra Virgin Olive Oil 500ml is a budget-friendly blend sourced from Spain or Tunisia so not vastly superior price wise and tend to degrade faster.

This is closer to motor oil that actual extra virgin olive oil. Sunflower or grape seed is much higher quality than this industrial lubricant.
