NIIMBOT printers are small Bluetooth thermal label printers, so they don’t use ink or toner. Could be useful for pantry/storage labels, office files, school items, cable labels, stock labels, shelf labels or general home/business organisation.
Like all these things it's the ongoing cost of labels that you have to look at. (Especially if you intend to use it a lot)
The secret is to find a popular labeller that aftermarket labels are easily available. I use a good old Dymo labelwriter which has plenty of cheap options for labels. Things like brother and zebra commercial labellers also have solid aftermarket label availability.
It looks like there are some aftermarket for the niimbot but they are still fairly expensive. Could change when/if the popularity of the labeller increases.
These are not thermal transfer, but direct thermal labels so will go brown or purple over time. For permanent labeling the laminated brother type label makers are still best as they will not change colour and you don't have to worry about splashes from some solvents and cleaning products bleaching the black either.
