  • Does anyone know any cheaper lithium batteries or is this the best deal?

    • Micromall's cheapest 110Ah LiFePO4 battery is $388 on trademe (https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/caravans-motorhomes/parts…) and $434 for their "silver" version (I think the difference is battery usage @10 years), but this is probably the lowest price from a national chain.

      • Be keen to know some feedback on the Micromall one. Any cheapy using one?

        • id like to know too, i want to buy their solar panel for my battery bank before the war increases the price.

        • The reason I knew about them is because I had bought one of their Silver 110Ah ones a couple of years ago which has had no problems, so bought a Gold 210Ah one off them this year when I upgraded my campervan and have had no issues with the battery or the company.
If I had thought through it all beforehand though, I might have gone with one of the all-in-one power stations that many van conversions are now using overseas rather than upgrading my ten-year old lead-acid setup, as it ended up needing me to also replace my existing lead acid-compatible solar charger, mains charger and alternator charger, none of which would play nice with a Lithium battery.
Unfortunately we're still paying a lot more than they do overseas for them, but LiFePO4 power stations like these Aferiy ones https://tradedepot.co.nz/furniture-home-garden-and-more/hous… don't take up a lot more space than the batteries do, and come with integrated DC, mains and solar-charging inputs as well as a higher battery voltage that makes the built-in inverter more efficient. If they were the same price here as in the US, it would be a very easy decision.

          • @tieke: Yes I am thinking on going the powerbank station route for my motorhome and put it in the motor garage. Saves alot of installed charge issues and you can take with you if you sell the mottorhome. Get the 1800-2000W ones and you can run an induction cooker off them. Can carry powerstation to the beach and cook pancakes off the induction cooker which does not get affect by the wind like gas cookers.

    • I'm going to grab one from Temu next time Shopback have a 50% day 😂

    • I had been watching these batteries for a while, there are cheaper (can get for about $200 plus shipping ex China) but these seen to be the best price point with decent warranty support.

Looked at Micromall and their support seemed to require you to take/ship to Auckland. Jaycar are at least national.

  • I think this is the same type of product:
