Shopback NZ - Is It Still Good in 2026?

I’ve been using Kiwiwallet as it seems solid. Shoprewards customer service has gone MIA and I suspect the site is a scam (has anyone had success with it??)

Shopback I’ve avoided due to so many posts here bagging it but it might only be due to Temu not tracking properly?

Anyway is Shopback any good?

Also can someone with Shopback please confirm if Accor hotel bookings works? I tried with Kiwiwallet and the link is now broken and there are reports on the internet that Accor no longer works for many referral sites (but I can’t find anything to confirm if Shopback link is broken)

    Lifetime earnings

    $4,868.55
    Available to withdraw

    $0.00

    Tracked

    $587.20

    Withdrawn

    $4,281.36

I've personally found it great - booking.com, temu, doordash, uber eats, and lenovo I've used

    • How do you rack up so much? I thought I was doing pretty well with around $1,500.

I'm hazarding a guess of lots of expensive travel bookings.

        E-scooter
Were some of the bigger ticket items i can recall

          100amp 12v battery lifep04

Oooh, I hadn't thought of this. What are you using these for? You've got me considering a Temu DIY UPS 😂

@ABCDEFG: I have a self contained camper with roof mounted solar set up (100amp lifepo4)
And a caravan with a foldable solar panel (from temu, which from testing seems close enough to legit) and 314amp battery

To pick a solar panel make sure to have a rough idea what size it should be because theres a lot of stretched claims from panels on there

Or better yet - trade depot panels often go on sale for $150-$200 for 450-550w panels with free delivery and my 450w panel is great (garage set up on 100amp agm battery)

Oh and connectors are cheap for diy wiring
+ Hydraulic crimper + other tools you might need

I am happy with Shopback so far. After cashrewards this has been more reliable than kiwi wallet.

    • Could you please kindly check whether Accor accommodation bookings is available for cashback on Shopback? Actually sorry I just found that it does and I have to book so I'll go grab a random referral from the system here.

      • For accor or any booking sites. Make sure to compare the prices using different methods. I have found once on booking.com it was bit higher from shopback then directly.

        • Best site for airfares ? Hopefully we will see some good deals agains Thanks

Lifetime earnings of $1675.15 on Shopback so far. Temu has NEVER tracked for me, I haven't bothered asking about it, it's not somewhere I buy a lot from. I always get a popup that says it's for new customers only even on the standard discounts. I find the surveys are good as well if you have a spare 10-15 bored minutes waiting in a queue or whatever. You can usually earn a dolla or 5.

Only other issue I have is a pop-up on websites that obviously don't do shopback, like my internet banking, asking me to allow cookies etc for shopback to function (I have the extension installed on my firefox browser)

Shopback has been reliable for me, i only purchase using the mobile app, always tracked.

I've found Shopback pretty decent as well! I haven't noticed an increase in weird scam emails or scam calls or anything since using the app. And all my deliveries from purchases made via the app have turned up and been fine. Seems legit.

I was also getting a little cash back each time I ordered Domino's via Shopback, but Domino's are "temporarily unavailable" on the Shopback app atm. Anyone else noticed that? IMO, they don't really have a huge range of brands on there. But there's an ok range: Booking.com, Temu, Chemist Warehouse, JB Hi-Fi, Kmart, The Warehouse, Doordash, Uber & Uber Eats, One NZ mobile, 2 Degrees mobile, etc. There are also some more obscure brands on there that I don't think I'd consider purchasing from just because I don't know much about them… I mean, I still think you need to do your due diligence on the actual brands themselves that you're purchasing from. Shopback can probably only guarantee so much online safety and the rest would fall back on the actual retailer themselves, but I dunno - haven't read the fineprint to that degree.

Apart from the above, the only other issue I personally have with Shopback is remembering to bloody purchase stuff via their app itself!! If you don't, then chances are your purchase won't be tracked. For some reason, I nearly always forget to do that when purchasing from Temu! lol. So, that's annoying & I kick myself afterwards!
I reckon you could rack up some good savings over time if you remember to do that for Temu at least. It's so cheap anyway, and when they do upsized Shopback deals for Temu, it's really worth remembering to use the Shopback app instead of heading straight to the Temu app.

Wait a minute The Warehouse and Kmart are on Shopback? When did this happen? I haven't received a notification saying this was available. Did they have a welcome to Shopback Cashback deal? Wow I've been living under a rock and didn't bother looking for these two brands.

jbhifi and kmart? Not on the website which is what I use exclusively.
      Only available on the app?
      Thanks.

      • +1

Oh so it is exclusive to the app. I rarely use the website. Just wished they had a promotion to announce they have joined the platform.

      • I have the Warehouse and Kmart on my Shopback app, yep!

  • Cashrewards closed ages ago…. they were pretty reliable.

    Kiwi wallet has been ok.

And I am one of the many who have never received any of Shopback's promised rewards. Despite their CS here often claiming people's issues are sorted. They are the last place I'd be using. Bar buying something anyway and then being the only place offering it. But frankly I llikely wouldn't even look.

    • OOPS Shoprewards is what I meant - site operating but Customer Service won't reply to anything about multiple missing cashbacks.

  • I booked a Accor hotel stay last Sep through Shopback, the cashback was confirmed in one week. Super happy with it.

  • No issues with shopback including multiple booking.com , have had about $500 back with them.

    • Best site for airfares ? Hopefully we will see some good deals agains Thanks

  • I've had probably 90% success rate with Shopback. Around $700 in total cash back. The really quality deals have definitely become more scarce over the last 12 months

  • Shopback has been pretty flawless.

Kiwiwallet on the other hand, completely useless, pretty dead for me. Stuff not tracking and customer service…I don't think they have ANYONE.

    • +1

Yes, flawless for me too - I think the app is good.

I just wish Kmart and the Warehouse would offer more than 1% cashback, lol (how piddly small is that!?), but every now and then they do upgrades on the percentages you can get back. Re Temu, you can sometimes get up to 20% or even more back!!
